Kakarot DLC 4 Arrives In January With Free Next-Gen Update

Bardock – Alone Against Fate will release in January alongside a free next-gen update.


Bandai Namco has announced the release date of the fourth DLC for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, along with a free next-gen update on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Kakarot’s next DLC, Bardock – Alone Against Fate, will be released on January 13th, the same day a free next-gen update begins rolling out.


According to the official website, the DLC includes a new story arc, super attacks, soul emblems, and other playable content. Players will follow the story of Goku’s father Bardock, who spent his life invading different planets across the universe and fighting against his own fate. As stated by the publisher, this is an all-new scenario based on the TV special, in which Bardock is tasked with protecting the Saiyans and their home planet. The Bardock – Alone Against Fate DLC will be available to play without having to complete the game’s main story.

Bandai Namco has also released a five-minute gameplay trailer for the expansion pack, giving players a peek into what to expect from its story. It showcases Bardock in action against the soldiers of Lord Frieza, the antagonist of the DLC who intends to destroy Saiyan’s home planet. Players will also explore Planet Vegeta and the Frieza Force base, as they can also interact with the Saiyan community between missions. The Bardock DLC is a part of Season Pass 2, which will add new story arcs and playable content in the future.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will also be upgraded to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X at the same time as the Bardock DLC on January 13. These new versions offer reduced loading times, new details to its open world, and visual upgrades including a 60 FPS option. Players who have already purchased the game on PlayStation 4 will be able to upgrade to PlayStation 5 version for free, whilst Xbox One users will receive the Xbox Series X|S versions via Smart Delivery.

In other Dragon Ball news, Bandai Namco has announced its partnership with Akira Toriyama in a new project that hints at a possible video game adaptation of his manga, SAND LAND.
