The developer will use the experience the studio has cultivated through the development and distribution of multiple IP-based games in Japan and overseas to make the most enjoyable product for fans around the world. Up until now, KLab has released a number of popular anime adaptions such as Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team, Bleach Brave Souls, Bleach Soul Rising, and YU☆YU☆HAKUSHO 100% Maji Battle. And now with My Hero Academia, anime fans will have more preferences in KLab’s catalogue to choose from.

DUALSHOCKERS VIDEO OF THE DAY

The anime My Hero Academia is based on the Japanese mangaka Kohei Horikoshi’s popular serialized work, which launched in “Weekly Shounen Jump” (published by Shueisha) in 2014. The manga sales have exceeded 65 million copies worldwide, and have been adapted into multiple anime seasons, movies and video games thanks to its rising popularity. Most KLab games revolve around adapting the current anime canon events and giving players the freedom to explore the fictional worlds, but they don’t shy away from adding new original content as well in collaboration with the main artists and production teams.

Bleach Brave Souls, for example, includes new forms for the main protagonists and antagonists never before seen in the main story, while Captain Tsubasa Dream Team has added new players from around the world as National Teams in the Captain Tsubasa universe, so it is not far-fetched to think that the upcoming My Hero game would adapt new Heroes or Quirks (Special Abilities) into the series narrative.

My Hero Academia is currently adapting a high-stakes arc that’s undergone significant build-up; an all-out war between the heroes and the villains of the series. It was originally supposed to end this year, but a recent author comment in the JUMP magazine has hinted that he is reconsidering his plans for the finale, and it might extend longer than he originally anticipated.
