Throughout the series, which first aired back in March, Channel 5 viewers got to see Jane McDonald tour the place that she calls home.

Exploring various different places in Yorkshire, the presenter delved into the county’s history and beauty, along with recounting some personal special memories.

One of which included heading to Scarborough where she touched on visiting with her parents Jean and Peter.

Sadly, both of Jane’s parents died with her dad Pete passing in 1993 and her mum Jean five years ago back in 2018.

Taking her fans to Scarborough, it was clear the seaside town held great sentimental value to Jane as she revealed it reminds her of the day trips they used to take.

She said: “Ah, happy days, I would do anything with just one more day with them.

“I am taking you to Scarborough because it has great memories of being there with my parents.

“We would always have cockles and prawns from a little stall on the front, and I still love prawns to this day.”

The presenter recalled singing songs in her dad’s van as they made the two-hour trip to the beach town, which she confessed seemed like forever when she was a child.

Throughout the episode, Jane worked her way around the seaside town, from riding on her favourite childhood rides to eating traditional fish and chips.

Jane has often mentioned how close she was to her mother and once revealed she lived at home with her until the age of 45.

Speaking in an old BBC Radio 4 interview, the star touched on the relationship she had with her.

She confessed: “I wasn’t an only child. I still have a brother and sister, But I was the one who stayed at home until she was 45.

“I was out working all the time, and I was able to pay for the bills, and I had my mother at home looking after me.

“My brother and sister got married, and they have been in great relationships all of their lives, but for me, it just didn’t happen that way.”
