Ishin! Will Feature Cameos By Kenny Omega And Raul Kohli

AEW star Kenny Omega will appear in Like A Dragon: Ishin! as a special-guest trooper card.

Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have announced that AEW wrestler Kenny Omega and Midnight Star Raul Kohli will cameo in Like A Dragon: Ishin!, the pair will appear as two of the six trooper cards that players can use to dish out special abilities on enemies.

Like A Dragon: Ishin! recently received another gameplay trailer, breaking down one of the core parts of the game’s combat – trooper cards. According to the development team, trooper cards are a combat feature that grants players a devastating attack and special abilities when activated in combat.

The cards are temporary but as effective as Ryoma’s own abilities to deal damage to enemy samurai. Kenny Omega is one of the special-guest trooper cards that players can call for revolution, with his “Essence of the One-Winged Angel” card skill having a huge area of effect. This skill card is also a great option for crowd control.

“I’ve been a fan of the Like a Dragon series for years, and to be forever immortalized in Like a Dragon: Ishin!, the newest entry in one of the most iconic game franchises of all time, is surreal,” Kenny Omega said in the announcement video. “I’m so excited about my Trooper Card, and I think players are going to love the artwork and attack animation—and the damage I can deal to enemies.” After missing out on appearing as a guest fighter in Yakuza 6, Omega will finally make his character debut in the series with a special card.

Raul Kohli, the British actor known for his roles in The Haunting of Bly Manor, iZombie, and Supergirl, will also get his own personalized card in Like A Dragon: Ishin!, which allows him to let his creativity run wild. He iterated that he is also a fan of the Yakuza series like Kenny Omega, saying, “As someone who is emotionally invested in the Like a Dragon story, I’m nervously excited to take on this mantle of being a small part of Ryoma’s journey,” Kohli described his feelings on being added to a Yakuza game. “The close relationship that Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have with their fan community, has been really exciting to see manifest in these cards. I’m very honored to not only be a part of the community but to also be a part of the series.”

Yakuza devs have been sharing little pieces of information for Like A Dragon: Ishin! in recent weeks. The upcoming action RPG received trailers dedicated to side activities, trooper cards, combat, and mini-games that players can participate in when they need a break from the main story. Like A Dragon: Ishin! is due to release on February 25th.
