Pokemon Go May 2022 Spotlight Hour is all set to add Magikarp as the featured Pokemon and fans are curious to know about the shiny status of the same.

For the third Spotlight Hour of May 2022, we have Magikarp as the featured Pokemon. During the course of this event, players will be able to find Magikarp more often than usual in the wild, so it is a pretty good chance to catch the Pokemon if you don’t have it, or you just want to hoard some Magikarp candies. The event will start like it always does at 6 pm local time and players have one hour until 7 pm local time to make the most of the event.

Like every time, we have an added bonus this time as well which will be giving players an extra reward. During the hour the event lasts, players will be getting twice the experience they usually get for evolving Pokemon. Do note that this Pokemon doesn’t have to be Magikarp, so you can evolve any Pokemon you want to.

Magikarp is a Generation 1 Pokemon and it hails all the way from the Kanto region. It is a water-type Pokemon, and it evolves into Gyrados, one of the most ferocious Pokemon in the game. Players who have watched the anime or played the Pokemon games would find Magikarp quite familiar as it is one of those Pokemon which spawn a lot in the game due to its common rarity.

Coming to the most important part, is there a shiny Magikarp in Pokemon Go? Well, the good news is that a Shiny Magikarp does indeed exist in Pokemon Go. Instead of its usual red color a shiny Magikarp is yellow in color so you can easily spot it if you see one.
