Is it possible to get the Exile Armor in Destiny 2?

Destiny 2 has dozens of armor sets that each stand out in their own ways. But there are so many more that have been lost to time due to vaulted content. Luckily, now and then Bungie does bring back some fan-favorite armor sets. And that’s exactly what is happening to the Exile Armor in Destiny 2, which you’ll be able to get again soon. And this move actually comes via a big change to how Destiny 2‘s in-game economy works.

For those who don’t know, the Exile Armor actually refers to a full set of gear. So that includes the helmet, chest piece, arms, legs, and class item. It was a set of armor obtainable through the Trials of Osiris PvP mode. And anyone who has tried that mode knows how difficult it can be. In a way, the Exile Armor is a badge of honor for the players who managed to unlock it. But it hasn’t been seen in the game for a very long time. Fortunately, that’s set to change in Lightfall.

Big changes are coming next season

Some major changes are coming to Destiny 2 when Lightfall lands on February 28. We’ve already covered some of the balancing changes to come. But Bungie recently announced some major alterations to Destiny 2‘s economy. These changes will affect which loot drops for players in the future, as well as expand the available options for focusing.

For starters, when Lightfall releases, Umbral Engrams will no longer drop. Instead, Seasonal content will reward you with Seasonal Engrams going forward. Ada-1 will also sell an expanded selection of shaders. But she’ll only sell three of these at a time. These are fairly minor changes, to be honest. But there are some much bigger additions on the way.

The Exile Armor set returns to Destiny 2

In the next season, you’ll be able to focus a wide variety of gear. To start, you’ll be able to focus Vanguard and Nightfall gear with Zavala. But the catch is that you’ll need to have previously acquired the gear you want to focus at least once. And Nightfall focusing will cost one Vanguard Engram, 20,000 Glimmer, and 50 Legendary Shards. Players will even be able to obtain an Adept Nightfall weapon this way. But to do this, you’ll need to collect Adept Nightfall Ciphers from Grandmaster Nightfalls.

The real star of the show here is Legacy Gear Focusing. And this is where players will be able to get the Exile Armor in Destiny 2. These new focusing options will allow players to unlock all sorts of gear sets from the Crucible, Vanguard, Nightfall, Gambit, Iron Banner, and Trials of Osiris loot pools. Unlike with usual Vanguard and Nightfall focusing, you don’t need to have had the gear before this point. You can focus gear that you’ve never found before.

However, if you have found it before, the cost to focus it will be lowered. For example, to focus the Exile Armor, the costs would be 7 Trials Engrams, 100 Legendary Shards, and 10,000 Glimmer if no pieces have been acquired. However, the new cost will be 3 Trials Engrams, 25 Legendary Shards, and 25,000 Glimmer if you did find it once.

Legacy Gear Focusing is a big deal for Destiny 2. It will allow players to earn back a lot of currently missing content. And getting some of these sets back won’t be very easy. In the case of the Exile Armor, you’ll still need to wade through Destiny 2‘s Trials of Osiris mode. Be sure to read through Bungie’s recent community post to get a good idea of what to expect.
