Is Fortnite Down Today? Devs Respond To ESP-Buimet-003 Error Code (May 10)

Fortnite players have been left frustrated after receiving the error code ‘esp-buimet-003’, signifying that the game’s official servers are down on Tuesday, May 10.

The outage comes as a brand new content update is expected to arrive for all platforms later today. The hotfix update is rumoured to include the unvaulting of the Air Strike item, as well as the continuation of the IO vs Resistance battle. Last week’s update saw Tilted Towers demolished as the war raged on throughout the island.

With today’s content update still a few hours away, Epic Games are eager to fix the current server issues. If you’ve been left baffled by the outage, here’s what the developers have said on the issue.

Is Fortnite Down Today? (Tuesday, May 10)

Yes, the Fortnite servers are officially down on Tuesday, May 10. However, the outage only appears to be affecting those on certain consoles.

According to Epic Games, Fortnite players are reporting issues on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. No outages have currently been reported on mobile devices, Nintendo Switch, or PC. However, should you begin experiencing issues on either of these platforms, it’s possible that the issue is related.

Thankfully, Epic Games has since responded to the recent outage and are investigating the issue.

Epic Games Responds To Fortnite Server Outage

The Fortnite servers went down on PlayStation and Xbox consoles at approximately 7:30AM BST, but thankfully it only took Epic Games an hour to notice the issue and get to work.

According to the official Fortnite Status Twitter account, the outage is currently being investigated. The full statement from the team reads “We’re investigating an issue where some players are unable to log in on Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Will provide more info when we have a fix”.
