The 2023 PlayStation Showcase went out with a bang with a Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 gameplay trailer revealed including a hunter villain and the Symbiote suit. With the game’s imminent release this fall from Insomniac Games, fans were expecting to see this game show up. Luckily, a long 12-minute cinematic and gameplay trailer showcased many new details on how Spider-Man 2 will play out.

Spider-Man 2 gameplay trailer revealed Kraven the Hunter villain and Symbiote suit

The final trailer of the PlayStation Showcase started off with revealing Kraven the Hunter, a classic Spider-Man villain. It seems Kraven wants to visit New York City as a hunting ground. The cutscene continues to then show what happened six months later. It doesn’t take long before we see Peter in the Symbiote suit, due to Venom, another iconic villain. While we don’t see Venom in the trailer, it seems as though Peter has run into him, or at least the Symbiote.

Peter seems a lot more gruff than before, and looks to be a lot tougher during the fight scenes. Much of the gameplay looks similar to the first Spider-Man game, but with an updated HUD. What’s even more interesting is when we see the switch to Miles Morales.

While co-op was confirmed to not be in this game, you can switch between Peter and Miles at certain times. The 12-minute trailer continues to show some stealth combat, and tense moments between Peter and Miles. The Symbiote suit seems to be a recent thing, and Peter isn’t acting himself. The trailer ends with an exhilarating fight scene including Miles and Peter.

There’s much more to see if you watch the trailer, so check it out for yourself! Sadly, Insomniac didn’t announce a release date other than fall 2023. But Spider-Man 2 is only a few months away, hold out till then!
