Starfield is a massive game that contains a bunch of different things for you to do at any given time. You can spend hours just trying to get yourself a new ship, whether that’s by spending the time building it yourself in the ship builder, or by buying one, or even just finding one in the environment and claiming it for your own whether that’s in space or on a planet. There’s so much depth to everything, but sometimes it’s the basic things that matter the most in a game this deep – like Boost Packs. These are Starfield’s equivalent to the jetpack, and you can use them throughout the game after you’re given or find one at the beginning of the game, but if you don’t know how to use them, you might be lost. Here’s our guide on how to use a Boost Pack in Starfield.
How to use a Boost Pack in Starfield
To be able to use a Boost Pack in Starfield, you need to have two things. The first thing you need is an actual Boost Pack, which is given to you near the beginning of the game or you can find one on a lot of enemies that you kill in different locations around the universe.
The second thing you need to be able to use a Boost Pack is the skill Boost Pack Training, and this can come pre-applied to your character depending on the skills you have on your character during character creation. This is one I didn’t have when I started my playthrough, so I ran around for a while wondering how to use the Boost Pack, and this was what I was missing to be able to boost around to my heart’s content.
Once you have all of those things, you can now use a Boost Pack in Starfield! To be able to boost in Starfield you have to press the jump button, which is Y be default on controller, and then press/hold it again while in the air to be able to boost.
Starfield is available for purchase on Steam.
