How to Unlock Weapons in The House of the Dead: Remake – GameSpew

If you’re playing The House of the Dead: Remake, you might have seen that it alludes to more weapons being available than just your standard pistol.

What it doesn’t do is tell you how to get them. And that’s a pain if you want to blast the zombies in your path with an assault rifle or grenade launcher. So, just how do you unlock additional weapons in The House of the Dead: Remake?

It’s simple really. But also a little bit challenging. To unlock additional weapons in The House of the Dead: Remake, first you need to unlock the Armory. To do that, start a new game, and make sure you save every survivor you encounter. If you’re having trouble, play on easy difficulty. You could also turn up the aim assist. And if a survivor does happen to die, consider going back to the main menu and then continuing to have another go at saving them.

Once you’ve made your way through the first three chapters of The House of the Dead: Remake, rescuing everybody that you can, you’ve pretty much done it. Just proceed through the fourth chapter, defeating the Chariot and Hangedman bosses, and eventually your character will come across the armory and enter it. From then on, it’s unlocked and available for use.

Only, when you first unlock the armory, it’s empty. To fill it, you need to play through the game again and find weapons to add to it. The crossbow can be found in chapter 1, in the dining room with caged survivors. Chapter 2 is where you’ll find the Pitter, inside a path opened by shooting the trap door. The grenade launcher can be found in Chapter 3, inside a chest laying to the right hand side of a terminal. And the assault rifle is found in chapter 4, in a room with two ball and chain-wielding zombies.

Once you’ve grabbed the weapons and added them to your armory, they’re then available in all modes. So, aim to get them all, as it will make the game much more fun.
