Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are games with a massive open-world for you to explore as you quest to find your treasure. Upon completion of the main story, there is still quite a bit more content left for you to do, such as completing the Pokédex and fighting in the various Tera Raids that are active across the game’s life cycle. Much like its predecessor, Pokémon Sword and Shield, there is also DLC being added across Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s life cycle, and you can access this DLC pretty early on into Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. But that begs the question, how do you start the Teal Mask DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? Well, let’s answer that question in this guide.
How to start the Teal Mask DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
The first thing you need to do to be able to start the Teal Mask DLC in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is actually purchase the DLC that corresponds with your game. Once you do that, you’re going to need to make sure your game is updated to the latest version so it can access the DLC.

When you boot into the game, if you’ve progressed past the opening section and begun the brunt of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s main story, which is the Treasure Hunt, you should get a phone call from one of the professors at your school, Jacq. He’ll mention something about a school trip that you’ve been selected to attend. This is the content of the Teal Mask DLC, and continuing this particular questline will be what starts the Teal Mask DLC in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

After you have the phone call with Jacq, you’re going to want to make your way to the school in Mesagoza, the name of the school is different depending on the version you’re currently playing, but the school is always in the same place. Once you make your way to the school, you’ll need to go inside and speak with Briar, who is right in front of the door as you enter wearing a purple jacket and some lovely Tera earrings. After the initial conversation, Briar will ask you to speak to them when you’re ready to head out for Kitakami, and if you’re ready right now, then speak to her immediately and you can head out for Kitakami and start the Teal Mask DLC.
