It’s a big JRPG, and so saving your progress while playing Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition is important. Thankfully, there are multiple ways to save your game, and so you should never be too far away from being able to do so.
Firstly, you can save your game at any point on the world map in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition. If you’re currently on the world map, head into the game’s options screen, and you’ll see the option to ‘Save’ right there.

Secondly, if you’re out in a dungeon or on the field, you’ll occasionally come across physical save points in the environment. These look like light-coloured prisms. Approach them, open up the menu, and you’ll see that the save option is available.
Thirdly, and perhaps most helpfully, Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition does feature an autosave function. So even if you’ve failed to save from the world map, or haven’t found a save point while playing, there’s a very good chance your data has been saving in the background. Still, we’d recommend you get into the habit of saving regularly whenever you get the opportunity. It’s just good practice.
