So the town’s tutor has caught the attention of the lonely farmer? Penny spends a lot of her time taking care of the youngest members of the community as well as working towards teaching them all she can. A heart of gold shines out of her, and it’s nice to see that it hasn’t gone unnoticed by the town’s newest resident. Stardew Valley’s resident quiet girl has a lot of going for her if you can get her out of that shell.
Penny lives with her mother Pam, hangs out a lot with Maru, and spends the largest chunk of her time taking care of other people. She is a sweetheart and those interested in marrying her will have a relatively simple path ahead of them. Her requirements are a lot humbler than many other folks available in Stardew Valley.
Schedule
Finding Penny at any given time is normally as easy as heading into town and looking around. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday of every season but in Summer, she will be in the library attached to the museum to teach Jas and Vincent from around 9am – 2pm. Then they hang out near the river until she drops them off at home around 4pm. After that, she will return home by 6:30pm and remain there for the day. During the Summer she still will go to the Museum around 10 am and can be found near the bridge at 2pm. At 4pm, she still can be found interacting with her students near Vincent’s home, before walking them both home.
On Sunday, Monday, and Thursday, Penny has a structured and similar routine throughout the seasons. At 8am, she heads out of her home to either take a walk or find a nice spot to read which is normally at the large tree next to the graveyard. Just past noon sees her heading home to handle chores during the Spring and Fall Seasons. Once the chores are done, she can be found hanging out with Maru on the Saloon bench. Her schedule for these days is different in Summer and Winter. Summer has Penny walking up near Jojamart for a while before heading towards the Community Center at 1pm. There she will settle down on the bench next to the Center and stay until 6pm. Then she returns home.
Winter has the biggest deviations for Penny’s Sunday, Monday, and Thursday schedule as it depends on if the Community Center is restored or not. If you haven’t been able to finish all the bundles or went the Joja route, Penny can be found reading in her usual spot next to the tree by the graveyard. Should the Community Center be restored, then she will be reading and moving around inside of it in the Winter. Either way, she will head home at 6 to do chores before heading to bed at 9pm.
If it’s raining, Penny either stays home all day or wanders to the Museum around noon to browse before going back home at 4pm. She also goes to see Harvey at the clinic on Winter 4. She will be at home until her appointment at 11:30am and doesn’t leave until 4pm. Then she’ll be at the bridge near Joja until heading home at 7pm to do chores before heading to her room. Penny also attends the Night market on the 15th of Winter. She stays at home doing various chores and things until about 4pm. Then Penny heads down to the docks until 11:30pm when she returns home.
Gifts To Give Penny
Getting in good with anyone in Pelican Town is easy. They all love getting certain types of gifts after they have introduced themselves to you. Growing in friendship and eventually romancing characters is easier when you present them with a present. Each Heart Level a farmer must earn is 250 points. Loved gifts count for 80 points while liked gifts count for 40. Players are able to give any and all townsfolk 2 gifts a week. The exception is their birthday week, and if a farmer gives a liked or loved gift to someone on their birthday, it counts for 8 times that amount. That’s 640-360 prospectively. Penny’s birthday is Fall 2.

Penny’s Heart Events
For the first event at 2 hearts, heading into town between 9 am – 2 pm will spawn this scene, and telling Penny she was kind will get you 50 points towards higher friendships, but no other answers after that choice affect levels. You can be honest about how you feel about aging, and it will not affect friendship levels.
When it comes time to witness the 4 heart event, there is no choice the farmer must make. Simply head into Penny’s home whenever she is there, and help her clean some things up. After Pam arrives you will leave and a letter will appear the next day.
Cooking is often the way to another human’s heart. Lying is also sometimes necessary to protect someone else’s feelings. When you go into Penny’s home while she’s there, you be treated to one of her new recipes. Telling her that it is good will boost your friendship, but if lying isn’t your style, telling her that the rubber texture is interesting causes no points lost.
At any time between 9 am and 4 pm, head into Cindersnap Forest to help Penny out on a field trip. There are a lot of options that move your standing up or down 10-20 points in friendship. That’s not enough to worry about too much. Instead, avoid answering a question of hers one way, or you can lose 6 hearts with her in one go. If you tell Penny that you can’t stand kids, she will plummet back down in her affection for you.
Penny will send you a letter telling her to meet at the Spa between 7 pm and midnight when you make it to 10 hearts. Once there, no answers change friendship points except for one. That’s right. There is another answer to avoid if you don’t want to drop 6 hearts with Penny. If a player tells Penny they don’t like her, 1500 points are deducted from your friendship with her, and she drops 6 hearts.
Once married and at 14 hearts, players are met with a series of questions at home between 3 pm and 7 pm on any day at the farm. There is no influence on friendship levels with this, but if you choose an option it can influence how your bedroom changes in a few days’ time. Keep that in mind if you don’t want your house to change drastically.
