How To Romance & Marry Elliott

0

Stardew Valley’s resident beach bum, Elliott, is the best bachelor in the game. Sure, he can come across as pompous at first. Sure, he spends most of his days cooped up in his beach side cabin, rolling out of bed to find that Luaus are being set up on his front lawn. Forget all that. He’s a gallant writer with a wide vocabulary, a chiseled face, and flowing locks of orange hair. What’s not to love?

Elliott’s Schedule

On most days, Elliott follows a set schedule depending on the season. Note that he can deviate from his schedule on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, as well as on rainy days.

In Spring, Elliott’s default schedule is as follows. He wakes up at 8am and writes in his house on the beach until 12pm. At noon, he goes outside for an hour and a half, then back inside. At 3pm, he leaves his house again and goes to stand on the bridge in the south of Pelican Town (the one that leads to the beach). At 6pm, he returns home.

In Summer, Elliott’s default schedule has him visiting Cindersap Forest (specifically, the area south of Leah’s Cottage). On these days, he leaves around 11:30am and starts heading home around 6pm. In Fall and Winter, he reads in the library in Gunther’s Museum, leaving and returning at similar times as in Summer.

If you have fewer than 6 hearts with Leah, Elliott will deviate from his default schedule on Fridays and Sundays. On these days, he heads outside at 11am and stands on the docks south of his shack for several hours. At 5pm, he starts heading to the Saloon, where he’ll meet with Leah on Friday nights. If, on the other hand, you have 6 or more hearts with Leah, Elliott will deviate on Thursdays and Fridays, but stick to his normal schedule on Sundays. On these days, he goes to Pierre’s General Store, leaving at 11:30am and heading back at 5:30 pm.

There are a few exceptions to his schedule. If it’s raining, Elliott will always spend all day inside his house, without fail. On Summer 9th, he goes for his checkup at Harvey’s Clinic. On Winter 17th, he leaves the Museum an hour early and visits the Night Market. Once Ginger Island is unlocked, he may also randomly decide to visit the Beach Resort on any day.

Best Gifts For Elliott

Elliott has a penchant for seafood, as well as Squid Ink and Duck Feathers, the tools of his writing trade. He’s not super picky; he likes Fruit, Vegetables, Artisan Goods, Cooking, Gems, Flowers, and all the other normal stuff. Note that he has a particular hatred for Amaranth, Salmonberries, Sea Cucumbers, and Quartz. He also dislikes Pizza, which is weird.

Here’s a list of all the best gifts for Elliott—his loves:

  • Crab Cakes
  • Duck Feather
  • Golden Pumpkin
  • Lobster
  • Magic Rock Candy
  • Pearl
  • Pomegranate
  • Prismatic Shard
  • Rabbit’s Foot
  • Squid Ink

Elliott’s Heart Events

Elliott in Stardew Valley saying

At two Hearts, Elliott’s cabin is unlocked, and you can enter it whenever he’s inside. Doing so will trigger his first Heart Event. Elliott will ask what genre of novels you like. The options are Mystery, Romance, and Sci-fi. Every answer will grant a bonus to Friendship, and no one answer is best. Note that if you continue to befriend Elliott, he will eventually write a novel based on the genre you choose.

At four Hearts, enter the Stardrop Saloon on any day between 3pm and 10pm. Here you’ll meet Elliott, and while having a drink with him, he’ll propose a toast. The best option here is to toast to your friendship with Elliott, which will reward you with +50 friendship. Toasting to Pelican Town rewards +25 friendship, and toasting to your own good health penalizes you with -10 friendship. Toasting to Elliott’s doom will result in a brutal penalty of -50 friendship.

At six Hearts, you can trigger a third Heart Event by entering Elliott’s home while he’s there. This event has no effect on his friendship level. His eight Heart Event, which is triggered by entering the Museum between 1pm and 7pm on any day, also has no effect on his friendship level.

At ten Hearts, visit the beach between 7am and 1pm on any day when it’s not raining. Accepting Elliott in this romantic scene will net a reward of +50 friendship. Rejecting him has no effect, and telling him he’s making you uncomfortable gives a penalty of -50 friendship.

If you’re married to Elliott, at fourteen Hearts, you can trigger yet another Heart Event. To trigger it, simply walk outside your house. Note that this event takes several days, and it won’t occur if there’s a festival coming up.
