If you want to grow your settlement and expand your influence in Manor Lords, then you’ll need to keep your approval rating high so people actually want to live in your town.
That’s much easier said than done, however, and it’s very easy to end up with a settlement full of people who hate you and question your leadership. If you want to keep everyone in high spirits, then you’ll need to shower them with a wide variety of resources and make sure they’re well fed.
The best way to increase your approval rating in Manor Lords is to make sure your villagers are housed, fed, and warm. Homelessness is a huge detriment to your settlement, so build enough Burgage Plots for each family. Make use of nearby natural resources like fruits and wild animals to keep everyone fed, and chop down trees for firewood to keep buildings supplied with fuel.
With those basics covered, you’ll have slow population growth and a decent approval rating. If you want to step things up, then adding amenities to your settlement will make everyone even happier. Building a church is a super easy way to score some approval points with your residents, and upgrading it will make that bonus even larger.
Once you’ve got your basic supplies taken care of, adding more options for your residents to choose from will make them even happier. The better the variety of food and clothing in your local marketplace, the higher your approval rating will get. Remember that your approval rating also affects the morale of a militia raised from your settlement, so it goes further than just domestic life.
If you’re having trouble finding multiple food sources and adding more variety to your settlement’s marketplace, then you can always use the trading system to import rare materials and keep your villagers happy. As long as you have just a handful of exotic goods that you can’t find near your settlement, you’ll get a huge boost to your approval rating.
