How to keep loot and stop Gray Zone Warfare crashes

If you’ve been playing Gray Zone Warfare, I’m willing to bet you have encountered any of these errors. On the off chance you have gotten past the sea of errors impacting the game, there’s a huge chance that Gray Zone Warfare will crash. It’s already happened to me — nine times. This is why I feel a guide on how to stop Gray Zone Warfare and keeping your loot for when crashes happen might be important. So follow along.

Gray Zone Warfare: How to keep loot and stop the game from crashes

Right now as I’m writing this guide, I’m discovering the game isn’t optimized well even if I’m using some of the best settings. I have the Nvidia 4060, so there’s no reason for the game to perform as it is currently. If the game is crashing for you, it’s not your rig, but if it is, let’s take a look at what we can do to make  Gray Zone Warfare work for you. Note, that while these solutions are for weaker PCs in mind, all computer users no matter the specs should try to attempt them.

Make sure your GPU is up to date. This is where most of the issues can happen. I can’t tell you how many times a game appeared broken, but when I updated my GPU, everything worked. So regardless if you’re on AMD or Nvidia, check if the manufacturer has an update for the Gray Zone Warfare.

If you somehow get into the game without any issues, I highly suggest tweaking some settings around. Specifically your visuals. If you have a strong GPU, consider dropping down to one value. For example, if you’re on ultra or high, go down to medium. When that happens, the game will use less VRAM, and in turn, may make your PC less stressed. Next, prioritize performance over quality. Gray Zone Warfare is quite beautiful even with all the bells and whistles turned off.

How to keep loot

When the game crashes, unfortunately, you can’t do anything about the loot you have on you. Currently, once you crash, your in-game character appears static and can be killed easily, making all your loot go away.

While you can’t stop that from happening during a crash, you can buffer the effects of it. Like any extraction shooter, only take what you need and keep the important things in your locker. Each time you extract, empty your backpack and fill up your locker to its available limit. Now, when you crash out of the game, head to your locker, and you’ll have all the gear that you want.

So rinse and repeat these steps to ensure only the important things remain after an unexpected crash.
