Waterfall In Ember Valley

Head to this spot on the map, over in the northern half of Ember Valley. If you’ve unlocked the shortcut portal hidden under a Tabby Gordo, you can take that shortcut and be only a minute or so away from your destination. That said, it will be a bit tricky to get to the exact location, as it’s high up in the cliffs.

Slime Rancher 2 Waterfall Hiding Secret Entrance To Powderfall Bluffs

Jetpack your way onto this exact stone pillar. That waterfall shown in the image has a secret cave just behind it. Wait until your jetpack fuel fully recharges before you fly over, as you won’t be able to see behind the waterfall until you’ve already flown through it. Just below the cave is a platform that you can also land on, but there is nothing below the landmass, so it’s recommended to fly as high as you can while flying toward the waterfall. However, you’ll want to have a few things in your vacuum before you fly into the cave.

Plort Puzzle

Slime Rancher 2 Plort Puzzle For Powderfall Bluffs

You’ve likely come across at least a few of the secret doors scattered around Rainbow Island. To open those doors, you shot exactly one Plort from a specific Slime into the mouth of a stone statue of that Slime’s likeness. The secret entrance to Powderfall Bluffs has a more advanced version of this unlock method. As you can see in the image, there are three stone statues you need to feed the correct Plort.

The statue on the left needs a Boom Plort, the one in the middle needs a Tabby Plort, and the one on the right needs a Batty Plort. All three of the associated Slimes can be found in the wild of Ember Valley, so if you haven’t captured and cultivated these specific Slimes, you don’t necessarily need to return to the Conservatory.

Boom and Tabby slimes are carnivores and will only eat meat. If you can, feed the Boom Slime a Briar Hen and the Tabby Slime a Stony Hen. Any Hen or Roostro will work, but those are the favorite foods of these slimes, meaning you’ll gain extra Plorts. For the Batty Slime, they will only eat fruit, and their favorite fruit happens to be Pomegranites. You only need one of each, and while they need to go into the correct statues, it doesn’t matter which order you place them in.

The Descent

Slime Rancher 2 Water Player Needs To Jetpack Over To Enter Powderfall Bluffs

Once you’ve placed all three Plorts, the ground will open up into a passage downward. The fall will be safe, and when you’re ready to leave, there’s a geyser at the bottom that can shoot you back to the entrance. Simply walk forward after landing, and you’ll start to see snow covering the walls. After a while, you’ll come across a large body of water. Once again, it’s important to have an upgrade jetpack, as you’ll need a good amount of fuel to fly across the water. As always, falling into the water will knock you out and send you back to your main ranch.

What To Do In Powderfall Bluffs

Slime Rancher 2 Map Powderfall Bluffs Half Covered

Powderfall Bluffs is a bit smaller than previous environments, and the overall theme is more shared across the area. It’s ice and snow, with a few spots of volcanic activity. However, this area is also crammed with unique items and plenty of secrets. There is a mass of cave systems, you can easily get lost running around in them. At certain times of day, barely visible platforms will appear that you can walk on, and they will lead you to extra secrets.

The main pull of the location was the return of Saber Slimes, carnivorous beige slimes with large teeth. They aren’t the only creature running around, as you can also find green chickens called Thunderclucks. There’s also a total of three special ingredients for you to use in Slime Science:

  • Perfect Snowflakes
  • Sun Sap
  • Slime Fossils

Finally, ranchers having difficulty with the Tarr now have an extra weapon to use against them. You’ll come across piles of Snowballs, which you can vacuum up. They take an inventory spot, but like with pure water, they can be used to attack the Tarr. Snowballs can also stun chickens and Slimes, meaning you have something to push Feral Slimes away from you, and a resource you can easily stockpile for chance encounters with the rare Gold Slimes. You can even find blueprints for a device that crafts Snowballs for you in a Treasure Pod.

For returning elements, the volcanic areas mean you can find extra Boom Slimes, and other favorites such as Cotton Slimes can also be found bouncing around. And finally, keep your eyes peeled for the Yolky Slimes. Rare Slimes that glide around like Puddle Slimes, and that will be best used when around your Henhen Coops.
