How to get the Other Half in Destiny 2

0

The Other Half is quite an annoying weapon to find in Destiny 2. In fact, you may have only just found out that it even exists. Well here’s what you need to know to get the Other Half in the game.

Destiny 2: Where to find the Other Half

The Other Half is the counterpart to the Half-Truths sword. Both are homages to the Energy Sword from the Halo series and were added to Destiny 2 during Bungie’s 30th anniversary celebration. The Half-Truths is a very easy weapon to get since you just need to play the Dares of Eternity activity in Eternity. Then you can use Treasure Keys after completing the activity to open chests for weapons based on the Halo series.

To get the Other Half for yourself in Destiny 2, you need to open the chest next to Xur in his Treasure Hoard. There’s a random chance that this weapon will be yours each time you open it up. But you can probably see why this can be so annoying. There’s no way to improve the low odds of getting the Other Half. You’ll likely need to replay the Dares of Eternity activity quite a few times to unlock the sword.

There’s not much that separates the Half-Truths and the Other Half outside of a different color blade and some perk differences. But I can’t deny how much the purple color of the Other Half appeals to me in comparison to its counterpart’s blue blade.

How to get Treasure Keys

You can earn Treasure Keys by defeating bosses and completing the activity. You can also get Treasure Keys directly from the Starhorse, but they cost 10 Strange Coins each. Alternatively, you can purchase Paraversal Hauls as these have a chance of giving you Treasure Keys as well. Just be warned that this isn’t guaranteed, so to be certain of getting a key you may want to just purchase them outright.

Now whether it’s worth the grind to get the Other Half in Destiny 2 is entirely down to you. If you can’t bear to have the gap in your collections then there’s no harm in grinding for it. Plus it’ll have some sentimental value for all the Halo fans out there that want to relive the good old days in a way. Just be prepared to grind for a very long time if you don’t get lucky in the short term.
