The Mushroom Armor Set is one of the best-designed armor sets in Elden Ring. Here’s where you can find it.

Quick Links

Elden Ring has its fair share of unusual armor, but nothing quite as bizarre as the Mushroom set. Fittingly enough, the set makes the wearer look like an old tree stump with mushrooms and lichens growing all over it. While it doesn’t offer particularly good damage negation, the Mushroom armor set does provide good resistances.

Unlike other armor sets that are comprised of the usual four pieces, the Mushroom set has a total of five. The fifth piece, known as the Mushroom Crown, is acquired separately and can be worn instead of the standard Mushroom head armor. Even though it looks a bit different, the crown is still considered part of the same set.

Where To Find The Mushroom Armor Set

Elden Ring Seethewater Cave

The Mushroom set can be found in Seethewater Cave in Mt. Gelmir, a small volcanic region located west of the Altus Plateau and north of Liurnia of the Lakes. The cave itself is located just to the northwest of Gelmir Hero’s Grave and northeast of Volcano Manor, beneath the Minor Erdtree. It’s worth noting that you’ll need to activate the Grand Lift of Dectus before you can access Mt. Gelmir.

The quickest way to get to the cave is by starting at the Altus Plateau Site of Grace and making your way north past the Lux Ruins and the Erdtree-Gazing Hill. Once you reach the Wyndham Ruins, make a left and keep going until you reach Seethewater River. From here you can simply follow the river north through the ravine until you reach Seethewater Cave.

Make sure you have some Stonesword Keys on hand because you’ll need two of them to unlock the cave’s entrance. The cave is filled with poisonous ground, slugs, mushroom people, and a couple of other types of enemies. Poison resistance is a must here so prepare accordingly. Explore the cave until you reach a room with a Giant Miranda Sprout. The Mushroom armor set can be found just behind the big plant. The Mushroom set has the highest Immunity in the game so once you equip it you’ll have a much easier time exploring the rest of the cave.

Where To Find The Mushroom Crown

Lake of Rot in Elden Ring

The Mushroom Crown has even worse damage negation than the regular headpiece, but it does offer slightly better Immunity and much better Robustness. You’ll likely want the crown more for the look than the stats. The crown can be found in the Lake of Rot, an underground location beneath Raya Lucaria.

Getting to the Lake of Rot is a bit tricky as it requires players to first complete Ranni’s quest. Once that’s out of the way, you can head over to Renna’s Rise in the northeastern portion of Liurnia of the Lakes and take the waygate that will transport you to Ainsel River Main. From there, go downstream along the river past the ruins and the Nosktella Site of Grace until you reach the Lake of Rot. Make sure you have a way of dealing with Scarlet Rot before you step foot into the lake.

From the Lake of Rot Shoreline Site of Grace, you’ll want to make your way to the southeast portion of the area. There are very few landmarks in the region, but you’ll know you’re in the right place once you’ve reached the submerged ruins. Make your way to the top of the ruined building and you’ll find the Mushroom Crown on a corpse hanging from a pillar.
