Incantations can heavily support focused spells in Elden Ring. Some are found around the map and can be picked up to learn the incantation, while others will need to be read about from a prayer book by an incantation vendor. This vendor will then be able to sell you the incantation for a reasonable price.
Many prayerbooks will contain multiple incantations, some of the better ones you can find in the game. These books are incredibly worthwhile to find should you have an incantation-based build. The Law Of Regression is great for incantation builds but requires intelligence. The Law of Regression will require players to find the Golden Order Principia prayerbook and take it to a vendor to be bought.
Where To Find The Golden Order Principia
This prayerbook can be located further into the game once you arrive at the capital. Eventually, you will reach the Erdtree Sanctuary site of grace; start from here to find the prayer book. From this site of grace, head out the east-facing balcony, and head up the root on the left side. From here, turn right and head out the door to be back outside.
Take a left after the doorway and drop down onto the rooftop below. Head up the rooftop until you find the opening that leads you inside the building. Drop down and head to the left up the nearby root. Following that root, you will see a dangling item right near the middle of the root, which is the prayerbook.
After you obtain the prayer book, it can be taken to either Brother Corhyn or Miriel, Pastor Of Vows. Depending on where you are in the game’s story, Brother Corhyn may be in one of many locations as he moves during a side plot line and the main story. Miriel, Pastor Of Vows, is more reliable and can be found at the Church Of Vows. Giving the prayerbook to one of these vendors will allow them to sell you the incantation for 10,000 runes.
Uses For The Law Of Regression
Despite being an incantation, only intelligence is required to use The Law Of Regression. Players must have a minimum of 37 intelligence to use this spell, which will cost 55 FP per cast. This spell can be used to get rid of build-ups of status effects or active status effects. It can also be used to dispel other nearby active spells but does have a brief cast time that does not make it ideal for battle.
While this incantation does require intelligence, it will require a sacred seal to use, which generally requires faith. This incantation can be a little tricky to use but can dispel nearby illusionary walls making it very helpful for exploration. Casting this spell in front of the statue of Radagon in the capital also causes a massive lore-heavy surprise.
