The interesting thing about Modern Warfare 3 is that you can’t get 100 percent of the trophies. Some of them require you to do stuff you wouldn’t expect. Usually, Call of Duty and Modern Warfare in general have easy-to-obtain achievements. For the third entry in the remake series, looks like Sledgehammer Games is making it somewhat harder. The “Have you tried turning it off and on” Trophy is something like that in Modern Warfare 3, and we’ll show you how to get it.
This trophy on Steam is one of the rare achievements because one wouldn’t assume doing this. So if you follow this guide, you can be a part of that 1 percent club.
To get this achievement, it must be done during any open combat mission levels, and it must have a sentry gun. I recommend doing Reactor since it’s an early open combat mission. The sooner you get it, the better. Plus, while you’re here, check out this guide to get every weapon and item in Reactor.
See when you can preload Modern Warfare 3 for the full release.
As you parachute downward, start steering toward the right. Once you’ve situated yourself on the right side, pivot towards the center near the building that’s round.
When you touch down, head to the back corner of the building near the round building. Use the map below as a reference.
Here you’ll find ammo, a zipline, and shock sticks. These sticks are what you’ll need. After you get them, make your way right of this area till you see an opening. You’ll find a sentry gun, but it won’t shoot you since it’s looking straight ahead. All you have to do is throw a shock stick at the sentry gun to destroy it. When you do that, it’ll be disabled, and the achievement should appear.
Note: Some players have reported that the trophy or achievement doesn’t pop up. There’s no real solution, so I’d say wait till the full game comes out on November 10th. When that happens Sledgehammer Games may have an update to fix this problem.
