How to get the Dusk Claymore in Tears of the Kingdom (TotK)

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features a number of amazing weapons that Link can use to hack away at his powerful foes. A lot of the more basic blades you’ll find are interchangeable, but some are just plain special. Here is our guide on how to get the Dusk Claymore in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom – how to get the Dusk Claymore

Most weapons have fairly poor durability, or they lack attack power and force you to hit powerful enemies frequently in order to make a dent in their hides. The Dusk Claymore is an exception to that rule, featuring good stats in both categories. However, it does slow you down a bit.

To find the Dusk Claymore, head to the Thyphlo Ruins. They are located to the north of the Great Hyrule Forest, on an island at the center of a large lake (see the map location below for a look at the island and the eventual location of the weapon). You can fast travel to the island by way of the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower, once you have activated it. If you need help with that process, check our guide on how to activate Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower.

When you arrive at the tower, you will need to speak with Kazul. He’s a researcher who has a tent and supplies near the tower. Look forward and to the left from the tower’s front steps to spot him. When you talk to him initially, without having cleared any temples, not much happens. As you clear each of the four elemental temples, huge stone tablets appear in the ruins. You can get help from Kazul to investigate the stone tablets as part of the Investigate the Thyphlo Ruins side quest.

Investigating the ruins requires you to clear a series of interlinked side quests using special abilities gained by helping the various sages. You won’t be able to finish the side quest until near the end of the game. When you finally complete the series of four trials, talk to Kazul again. As a reward for your assistance, he’ll point you to a chest that contains the Dusk Claymore.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for purchase from the Nintendo Store.
