‘The Catch’ is a free-to-play weapon in Genshin Impact that serves as a fantastic option for Sub-DPS and Support characters, including Xiangling and Zhongli. Though the weapon is free, getting it will take a bit of time and effort.
In order to get The Catch, you will have to find and catch specific fish all around Teyvat and turn it in to the Inazuma Fishing Association. To make sure you find the right fish and locations, follow our directions below.
What Is The Catch
The Catch is a 4-Star Polearm that is available at the Inazuma Fishing Association by trading in caught fish. It has a bonus stat of Energy Recharge, and its special skill will increase Elemental Burst DMG by 20 percent and Elemental Burst CRIT Rate by 7.5 percent. This weapon is ideal for many characters, especially Xiangling, Zhongli, Thoma, Raiden Shogun, and Candace.
We personally recommend using this weapon on any Sub-DPS or Support characters, as it will focus heavily on the character’s Elemental Burst and keeping its energy up. In order to get the weapon, you will have to go to the Inazuma Fishing Association and get these three fish:
- Raimei Angelfish (x6)
- Golden Koi (x20)
- Rusty Koi (x20)
To enhance The Catch, here are the fish you will need to trade in:
- Raimei Angelfish (x3)
- Pufferfish (x10)
- Bitter Pufferfish (x10)
The refinement material, ‘Ako’s Sake Vessel,’ can also be purchased at the Inazuma Fishing Association up to 4 times. In order to stock up on these fish to get The Catch, we have gone over the best fishing spots in the game.
Fishing Spots For The Catch
There are many fishing spots all around the map in Teyvat, but each spot has certain fish that will appear. In order to speed up the process, so you don’t have to check every fishing spot, here are the best places to find the fish you need to get The Catch.
Raimei Angelfish Locations
Shown on the map above is the only location where you will find Raimei Angelfish. This small, electrified area is just outside of the Kujou Encampment and Tatarasuna, with a bunch of driftwood from boats lying around. You will only find the Raimei Angelfish in this area from the hours of 18:00 to 6:00, so make sure you visit at this time or use your clock to speed up the time.
Raimei Angelfish will require the False Worm Bait, which will require 1 Slime Condensate and 1 Berry to craft.
Golden Koi Locations
Golden Koi can be found in 4 different locations, shown in the images above.
- The first one you can find in Inazuma, nearby to Koseki Village.
- The second is found in Mondstadt, next to Stormbearer Mountains.
- The third will be across from Wangshu Inn.
- The fourth is near the bridge by Mingyun Village.
- The fifth will be just outside the Hidden Palace of Guizang Formula Domain.
These fish will be quite a bit easier to catch than the Raimei Angelfish and will appear more frequently. You shouldn’t have too much of an issue picking them up. To catch this fish, you will need to use Fake Fly Bait, which will require 1 Sakura Bloom and 1 Horsetail.
Rusty Koi Locations
Rusty Koi can be found in almost all of the same locations as Golden Koi, except for the location nearby to Stormbearer Mountains. The one additional location you can find Rusty Koi is shown above, just outside the city of Mondstadt.
In order to catch this fish, you will need to make sure you use the Fake Fly Bait, just like Golden Koi. This will require using 1 Sakura Bloom and 1 Horsetail in order to craft it.
Pufferfish Locations
In order to raise the refinement level of The Catch, you will need to also catch 10 Pufferfish. This fish is relatively easy to find as well and can be caught in many different locations across Teyvat.
- The first location will be just south of the city of Mondstadt.
- The second will be on a small island just outside of the Dawn Winery.
- The third location will be just outside the city of Liyue, close to the Liyue Fishing Association.
- The fourth will be near the docks of Ritou in Inazuma.
- The fifth will be in the waters outside Fort Hiraumi on Seirai Island.
To catch this fish, make sure you use Fake Fly Bait, just like the Rusty Koi and Golden Koi. This will require using 1 Sakura Bloom and 1 Horsetail to craft.
Bitter Pufferfish Locations
Bitter Pufferfish are another type that you will need to capture in order to refine The Catch. The Bitter Pufferfish can be found in three locations that are the same as the Pufferfish, which is near the docks in Ritou, outside Dawn Winery, and in the area just south of Mondstadt. Otherwise, here are the other locations where you can find it.
- The first location will be just north of Nazuchi Beach.
- The second location will be in a small pool area northeast of Qingce Village.
In order to catch this fish, you will also need to use Fake Fly Bait, just like most of the previous fish on this list. Just use 1 Sakura Bloom and 1 Horsetail to craft it.
Trade In Fish For The Catch
When you have racked up the required amount of fish to get The Catch, make your way to the Inazuma Fishing Association, shown above. There will be a woman here named Kujirai Momiji, who you can approach and purchase items from.
When you begin talking to her, ask her to look at the fishing supplies. You’ll notice The Catch, which will require a certain amount of Raimei Angelfish, Golden Koi, and Rusty Koi in order to purchase. If you have enough, choose the Exchange option, and you will then receive the weapon.
You can also buy The Catch’s refinement material here, called ‘Ako’s Sake Vessel.’ You will need Raimei Angelfish, Pufferfish, and Bitter Pufferfish to purchase this item. You can buy it four times in order to get The Catch to its final refinement level.
