Thalamus is one of many ingredients in Hades 2 that you’ll need to use for incantations. But unlike some of the more common resources, like nightshade or moly, thalamus and the origin seeds needed to get it are a bit more elusive.
In this Hades 2 guide, we’ll show you how to get thalamus and where to find origin seeds.
You’ll need to get thalamus to cast “Unraveling of a Fateful Bond” incantation that allows you to survive on the Surface (and get some bronze for unlocking all weapons). You’ll need two each of four ingredients to create this incantation: lotus, nightshade, moss, and thalamus.
Moss is simple enough to find. Just head up to the surface and look for little green patches on the ground. Pick them up before the curse kills you, and repeat that process until you have two.
Thalamus is much more confusing to get, as you can’t find it on its lonesome. To grow thalamus, you’ll need origin seeds.
Thalamus is not a plant that you can randomly find and pick, like moly or the aforementioned moss. Instead, it’s a plant you’ll need to grow, like nightshade. Origin seeds are only found in Chaos’ realm.
Grab your Silver Spade tool and your weapon of choice and dive into an Underworld run. Continue along until you find a Chaos Gate, which will take you to Chaos’ realm. Pop on in for a visit and you should find a mound of dirt located somewhere in the realm of Chaos. Use your Silver Spade to dig up some origin seeds.
You’ll need two seeds in order to finish this quest, so keep visiting Chaos until you have both.
With two origin seeds in your little satchel, head back to the Crossroads. Plant your seeds in the soil that you should’ve already unlocked via an earlier incantation, “Flourishing Soil.” Origin seeds take seven whiles to grow, so head back into the Underworld for another run, or head up to the surface for seven quick-but-doomed encounters.
Once your origin seeds are fully grown, you’ll be able to harvest your thalamus and complete the “Unraveling a Fateful Bond” incantation so you can finally explore the Surface in Hades 2.
