If you’re also looking for Papaya like I am in Coral Island, I can tell you how to get it. This fruit is involved in a side quest from a villager, but I was confused when attempting to find it for myself.
There’s a simple reason as to why you may be struggling to find this fruit, and I can explain why. Let’s go over where you can get your hands on some Papaya.
While you can get Papaya fruit at Sam’s General Store, how you have to unlock it in Coral Island is by reaching Town Rank E. Everyone starts their Coral Island playthrough at Town Rank F, and needs to work their way up. You can reach all the way up to Town Rank A.
Since you get the side quest from Emma for the Papaya fruit early on in Coral Island, you’re still probably stuck at Town Rank F. You’ll need to earn a ton of Merit Points to reach the next rank, which is luckily the one you need to get Papaya.
Once you make it to Town Rank E, head over to the General Store and you should see this for sale. Purchase the seed, and plant it on a 2×2 plot of tilled soil. After 10 days pass, the Papaya tree should be mature enough to produce fruit. Luckily, you can harvest for more Papayas every three days. Just remember that this tree only grows fruit during the Summer and Fall seasons.

One thing that may deter you from planting this tree is the price of the seed. You’ll have to pay 1,350 coins for the Papaya seed, but this fruit has some good uses:
I recommend turning any leftover Papaya into these two products, since they sell for more and are better as gifts. Papaya on its own is nearly a universally-liked gift, but Lily, Macy, and Leah all dislike it.
