How to Get Member Card in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & What It’s Used For (BDSP)

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have some of the coolest legendary Pokemon in the history of the series. The likes of Giratina and Darkrai are incredibly cool; dark legendary Pokemon that any trainer would be delighted to have in their party. The problem is, they’re also incredibly tricky to unlock, and in some cases, require special items to be able to encounter them. In this guide, we’ll explain everything you need to know about the Pokemon Brilliant Diamond Member Card, so you know how to get it and where to use it.

What Is the Member Card?

The Member Card is an item that players can use to open a locked house in Canalave City. It looks like a hotel room keycard when viewing it in your ‘Bag’ menu.

The Member Card is an important item as it enables players to fight and capture the legendary Pokemon Darkrai. This elusive legendary is waiting inside the house when you’ve got the Member Card and open the door, so you’ll definitely want to get your hands on it if you’re looking to complete the National Dex (and get one of the strongest Pokemon in the game).

Getting the Member Card in Pokemon BDSP

To get the Member Card in Pokemon BDSP, you’ll need to use Mystery Gift and select the ’Get Via Internet’ option.

The Member Card/ Darkrai event is now live in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Selecting ’Get Via Internet’ will then cause the Member Card to appear as a redeemable item.

It’s worth noting that once you’ve obtained the Member Card, you’ll need to enter the Sinnoh region’s Hall of Fame and obtain the National Pokedex before you’re able to use it.

How to Get the Lunar Wing in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Before you can use the Member Card to get Darkrai, you’ll need to get the Lunar Wing. This can be obtained by visiting Sailor Eldritch’s House, two houses south of the Canalave City gym.

Head inside after beating the Elite Four and you’ll find a young boy in bed who, if you interact with him, will say ‘Dar….Dark…. is watching me…’

Go outside and speak to Sailor Eldritch just to the right of the house. He’ll ask if you can visit Fullmoon Island to get the Lunar Feather for him.

Make your way to Fullmoon Island, and just follow the path until you reach an open area with Cresselia. Press A on Cresselia and it’ll disappear. You can now catch it by hunting it down across Sinnoh using your in-game map.

A Lunar Wing will be left where it was stood, so pick it up and return back to Sailor Eldritch’s son. This will wake the young boy up, and enable you to now use the Member Card, which will lead you to Darkrai.

Where to Use the Member Card in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Once the Member Card has been obtained, you need to head to Canalave City. Here, look for the house with the blue roof directly north of the Pokemon Center.

You’ll then be able to go inside and the NPC will talk to you and say they’ve had a reservation for you for quite some time.

He’ll then direct you to the bed where you’ll fall asleep, and then you’ll awaken on Newmoon Island. Follow the path around and then interact with Darkrai and you’ll then be able to battle and catch this legendary Pokemon.

Darkrai is a level 50 Dark-type Pokemon.

That’s everything you need to know on how to get the Member Card in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. For more tips and tricks, head over to our wiki or see more of our coverage on the game below.
