Hardwood in Enshrouded can become confusing since you can get it early in the game, but its actual use comes relatively later. You see, Hardwood is used for advanced furniture recipes you can craft with the help of the Carpenter. Improving your Comfort levels further will depend on how much Hardwood you can collect in the wild, so take notes! If you want to locate Hardwood easily, you need to travel to Revelwood, more precisely to the area surrounding the Revelwood Ancient Spire fast travel spot.
You can find Hardwood by chopping it down from trees, but not normal trees. While average trees will give you Wood Logs, you can obtain Hardwood from trees with a green base due to the vines and moss that have grown in the tree’s trunk. Some believe that the actual size of the tree is what determines which type of Wood you get, but it only depends on the base of the tree being green. The bigger the tree, the more swings you will need to perform to chop it down, so be sure to fix your Felling Axe and have a decent chunk of stamina available to chop down these monsters. These trees are all over Revelwood, so just jump from the Ancient Spire and you will find a forest filled with these for you to chop down and collect the Hardwood that drops.
