Along the course of their adventure in The Sons of the Forest, players will have access to a wide variety of options, including a selection of ranged weapons. Everyone who has ever tried to survive a zombie apocalypse knows that melee weapons can only get you so far before you need something more lethal. When it comes to solving this problem, fortunately, there are a few different options available.
An excellent illustration of this would be the compound bow. This weapon is so effective that it can easily put an end to the vast majority of the wild animals that are roaming the forest, not to mention the flesh-eating cannibals that are attempting to tear you to pieces. This is a bow for the elite hunters and cannibal slayers, firing bows at a more deadly improved rate and an even greater distance than the average crafted wooden bow and arrow.
Where To Find The Compound Bow
As with most items found in the game, the compound bow is in one of the many hidden caves and bunkers that are scattered throughout the map. This particular cave/bunker requires several necessary tools, such as the rebreather, shovel, and rope gun. Before making any attempt at retrieving the compound bow, be sure to have all the items above ready in your inventory. Providing you have the requirements to gain access to the bunker in question, navigate your way to the designated point in the image above.
How To Get The Compound Bow
Once the player has successfully navigated to the designated location, the bunker’s hatch is initially buried in dirt and terrain. This is where the shovel is needed. Even though the other essential tools were mentioned, they are required to get the shovel. The entrance to the bunker is buried in the middle of two surveyor cameras randomly placed need a golf cart. To gain access to the hatch, the player must equip the shovel and begin to dig until the bunker’s hatch is clear to open.
Clearing the hatch of the debris can take a few minutes, be sure to aim for all the dirt that covers the hatch to uncover it fully. When the shovel comes to a hard stop, begin to dig in a new area. You will know when you have done enough digging when the option to open the hatch appears. After the hatch has been exposed, the next step is to use the interact button to pull the hatch up and open it. After this, the player will start their descent into the bunker, where they will find the compound bow.
After entering the bunker, continue along the corridor until you reach the room on your right that is flooded, and then turn around. Proceed into this room.
Find your way to the toilet; the bathtub is located in the exact center of this room. The compound bow is located in the center of the room, leaning against the same bathtub. Approach the compound bow and collect it to add it to your arsenal of weapons.
