How to get the Dragon’s Breath Exotic in Destiny 2
The Dragon’s Breath Exotic Rocket Launcher is available to all players during the Season of the Wish, although you get it immediately if you buy the pass. If you don’t purchase the pass, you’ll still unlock the weapon when you reach level 35. The launcher is the same, but it’s worth mentioning the Dying Dream ornament for the Dragon’s Breath is only on the premium track.
Where is the Catalyst for the Dragon’s Breath in Destiny 2?
You can grab the Dragon’s Breath Catalyst questline from Banshee-44 in the Tower. Speak with him at the Gunsmith Counter, and you’ll receive ‘The Old Flame’ quest. This quest has three parts, and we will update this guide with more information as we learn it. Still, the first part of the quest has the following objectives:
- Defeat 50 Scorched Targets
- Defeat 5 Bosses
The Scorched Targets should be pretty easy as the Dragon’s Breath Rocket Launcher has the Composite Repellant Trait, which inflicts Scorch on any enemy it hits. To ensure you’ve always got plenty of Heavy Ammo, I recommend putting a couple of Heavy Ammo Finder Mods into your Helmet.
What does the Dragon’s Breath Catalyst do?
The Dragon’s Breath Catalyst gives the launcher a Trait called Pyromancer, which makes the weapon replenish fuel faster. This ties in with the Composite Repellant Trait, which ejects more fuel the longer the launcher goes without firing. The Catalyst also makes defeated enemies occasionally drop Firesprites.
Solar and Stasis are already shaping up to be incredibly powerful in Season of the Wish, so the Dragon’s Breath Catalyst may be worth your time.
