Find The Absconder
You shouldn’t have a difficult time finding this Infamous Foe. Once you’ve picked up the quest Absconder Encounter from Edgar Adley, you can rely on your field guide to lead the way. The location of the lair will also be marked on your minimap. Just make your way to the Forbidden Forest to begin your journey.
Take Out Additional Spiders
When you reach The Absconder’s lair, it won’t be happy to see you. As a reaction, it will summon more spiders to aid it in battle. You’ll want to take these out first, because The Absconder will continue to summon more throughout the fight. What might seem manageable at first can quickly become overwhelming after a few summons.
Use Little Spiders To Build Ancient Magic
The first thing you should do in this fight is use your ancient magic on The Absconder itself. This is going to be your most damaging move. After that, build up your magic again by building combos off the little spiders. This will help you recharge your most powerful move and help you greatly later in the fight. Remember that you can continue building combos as long as you don’t get hit.
The Golden Sigil
When you see the golden sigil or halo around your head, that means it’s time to dodge out of the way or use Protego to defend yourself. If possible, always use Protego. If you get a perfect Protego and hold down the command, you’ll hit a nearby enemy with Stupefy. This is incredibly useful in a fight like this with multiple enemies.
Taking Down The Absconder
Even using your most powerful moves, this isn’t a short fight. The Absconder has quite a lot of health. It’s also much faster than it looks, which means you need to keep moving in order to avoid it.
Use Your Ancient Magic Whenever Possible
Your other spells are going to be useful, of course, but the big game changer will be your ancient magic. Every time you build up a bar, use it. You want to hurt The Absconder as much as possible. If you aren’t using ancient magic at that moment, then you should be working your combos to build up ancient magic.
Time Your Dodges
When you see the red halo or sigil around your head, that means it’s time for you to dodge. It’s crucial that your time your dodges well in this fight, often dodging two or three times in a row to avoid getting hit. You want to avoid getting hit because The Absconder will take off large amounts of your health with a single strike. This will also break any combos you’ve been working toward. That will slow down your momentum.
