How to find Argentavis spawn locations in Ark Survival Ascended

In Ark Survival Ascended, you’ll be attacked by almost everything. So why not add giant birds to the mix? The Argentavis is big, scary, and is out to get you.

Traveling in packs, you’ll scarcely be facing just one. Here’s how to find them, although I’m really not sure why you want to.

Where is the Argentavis in Ark Survival Ascended?

In Ark Survival Ascended, the Argentavis is a giant avian that generally prefers colder climates and higher elevations. They tend to travel in packs, although you may be able to spot a solitary one every now and then. Fiercely defencive, once they’ve settled on their target, they’ll travel large distances to see it dead.

On The Island map, you’ll find them up north in the snowy region, and you’ll spot them on mountainsides. They are more common on higher elevations, so if you’re seeking them, travel the mountain roads. You’ll soon stumble upon one.

What are the spawn stats for Argentavis in Ark Survival Ascended

Below is a list of the spawn stats for the Argentavis in Ark Survival Ascended.

  • Health – 365
  • Stamina – 400
  • Oxygen – 150
  • Food – 2000
  • Weight – 400
  • Melee Damage – 25/12
  • Movement Speed – 100%
  • Torpidity – 600

These giant creatures are pretty beefy, and you’ll need to be well equipped to take one down. Upon taming one, all their stats aside from their torpidity will increase, making them a little stronger.

How to Tame Argentavis in Ark Survival Ascended

Taming the Argentavis is rather difficult, considering their mobility and damage. The only way to tame them is to knock them unconscious by raising their torpidity. You’ll need ranged weapons to do this. Any tranquiliser tool is heavily recommended, although a slingshot will work.

Try to single out and provoke your target Argentavis. You’ll need to keep shooting at it and stepping out of the way of its strafe to stay alive. You may find that it will try and fly away when you’re almost there, so you’ll need to be sure to quickly land another hit or two to knock it down.

Once unconscious, you must feed it. Superior Kibble and any raw or cooked meat will do, with mutton and prime meat, raw or cooks, being the most effective. As the tame meter fills up, it’ll wake up tamed and you’ll have your very own terrifying Argentavis.

I hope this has been a help to you, fellow survivor, and that you’ll be spotting your first Argentavis before long. If you want more Ark Survival Ascended help, look no further than PC Invasion.
