SHADOW has returned to the Fortnite Island, replacing Bounty Boards with mysterious SHADOW Briefings. This guide explains how to “find and accept SHADOW Briefings” to complete the Kickstart quest in Fortnite Chapter Five Season Two.

SHADOW Briefings are terminals offering match-specific quests found throughout the Island. They come in four categories: Bounty, Plunder, Supply Drop, and Vehicle, replacing Bounty and Job Boards from previous Fortnite Seasons.

Briefings are marked on your minimap with white magnifying glass icons. To find SHADOW Briefings fast, I recommend dropping south of Fencing Fields or in Reckless Railways. If you’re busy with other quests, check out Fortnite.gg‘s map above for the location of every SHADOW Briefing in the game.

To complete the “Find and accept SHADOW Briefings” Kickstart quest, you must accept tasks from any three SHADOW Briefing terminals. The key word here is “accept,” as you don’t need to complete them to gain quest credit.

You can’t take on another task until your current Briefing is completed or expires, though all players in your party contribute towards your quest progress. You can also complete the quest over several matches if you were unlucky enough to be eliminated early in the match. Not that I’d know anything about that…

All SHADOW Briefings

SHADOW Briefings can be a fantastic method for quickly finding loot or vehicles. Let’s take a look at all four SHADOW Briefing types so you can take advantage of them throughout Fortnite Chapter Five Season Two.

Bounty Briefing

Bounty SHADOW Briefings are red terminals with a target icon. These work exactly like Bounty Boards, highlighting a player to eliminate in exchange for 100 Bars. As a very lazy assassin, I can confirm that other players taking out your target also counts.

Plunder Briefing

Plunder SHADOW Briefings are yellow terminals with a treasure map icon. This Briefing spawns two buried rare chests, making them perfect for players hunting down items like Thunderbolt of Zeus and Wings of Icarus.

Supply Drop Briefing

Supply Drop SHADOW Briefings are green terminals with a parachute icon. Accepting the Briefing calls down a Supply Drop nearby — rush to open it before another player beats you to the chase.

Vehicle Briefings

Vehicle SHADOW Briefings are blue terminals with a wheel icon. Hop in the vehicle that “rifts” in and travel 500 meters to earn 100 Bars.
