Trying to evolve Tangela into Tangrowth in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, but can’t figure out which item to use? This guide can help.

The Pokemon games are known for having complex ways of evolving Pokemon. Whether it’s Hisuian Qwilfish requiring a move to be used 20 times in Strong Style, or Eevee having eight different ways to evolve, Pokemon can be difficult. One Pokemon that has an odd way to evolve is Tangela.

Tangela evolves into Tangrowth, one of the more powerful Grass-Types in the game. It is certainly a must for anyone wanting to have a Grass-Type on their team. The Pokemon can be found in the Crimson Mirelands or Cobalt Coastlands. Tangela has a long process in order to evolve.

How To Evolve Tangela

Tangela’s evolution is one of the more obscure ones to achieve. You need to catch one and add it to your party, so it can level up. The first place available for you to find a Tangela is Gapejaw Bog in the Crimson Mirelands. First the Pokemon must reach level 34. Once this has occurred, it must know a special move in order to evolve into Tangrowth.

The move that Tangela needs to know in order to evolve is one called Ancient Power. The move is gained as soon as the Pokemon reaches the correct level. If Tangela has no room for moves when it levels up, you’ll need to change the moves around so that it does know Ancient Power.

If you need to change Tangela’s moves, you can do so on your menu. Go to your Pokemon team and select Tangela. Then select change moves. You can use this to trade any move Tangela already knows with Ancient Power.

As soon as Tangela knows the move, the Pokeball beside the Pokemon will be glowing yellow. It will also have the evolve option. Once you select to evolve it, you will have a Tangrowth on your team.

Where Can Tangrowth Be Found?

While Tangela can be evolved into Tangrowth, Tangrowth can also be found in the wild. An Alpha Tangrowth can be found in Crimson Mirelands in the Gapejaw Bog area. This is an option for those who don’t want to evolve Tangela. The only issue is that this Alpha is much more difficult for lower-level players to catch.

Tangrowth is an excellent addition to any team. It is certainly one of the best Grass-Types there is. For anyone who wants Tangrowth, the Alpha or evolving Tangela are the only options.
