While there have been 11 weeks of Resistance quests this season, is wouldn’t be any surprise to call this the toughest quest of them all. You’ll arrive at this quest after dealing with the emergency beacon. For this quest, we will cover how to equip the backpack and collect fuel cells near Command Cavern in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2.
How to Establish Device Uplink
Before we get to the actual quest, we must first clear the opening objective. We will have to “Establish Device Uplink near Seven Outpost II or Seven Outpost V.” There are several different spots to do this, but the best is that far northwest one on top of the mountain.

This quest will need to be completed rather quickly, so you might want to read these steps before setting out.
How to Equip the Backpack & Collect Fuel Cells Near Command Cavern in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2
- Touching the audio log will give you the real quest objective to “Equip the backpack and collect fuel cells near Command Cavern.”
- If you head forward and slide down the hill directly ahead of you, you will come down almost directly in front of the backpack.

- Hold the button shown on screen to equip the backpack.

- From here head south towards Command Cavern but we will not be going into the location.
- Inside this little outpost tower will be the first and only necessary fuel cell.

- Unlike usual objectives, you just need to walk into the fuel cell to pick it up.
Picking this single fuel cell up will give you enough of a charge to turn in the quest, but it will also instantly begin draining.

- Turn around from the doorway of this tower and enter the Siege Cannon across the road.
Shoot yourself towards the Seven Outpost II that had the backpack pickup.

- Once you land you’ll want to make your way as quickly as possible to where you picked up the backpack and place it back down using the button shown on the screen.
Once you do, the quest will complete.
