While many Resident Evil 4 Remake requests are simple and can be completed by destroying a few blue medallions, some will have you fight powerful versions of already difficult enemies. These requests serve as mini-boss fights to challenge the player for a very decent reward.

In some of the final sections of the game, players will be introduced to the enemy known as the Regenerator, which is arguably one of the most challenging enemies to fight in the game. The Iron Maiden is a stronger and more deadly form of the Regenerator, with the Wandering Death being an even stronger Iron Maiden, resulting in the strongest non-boss enemy in the game.

Where To Find The Wandering Death

This request is located near the end of the area when you’re about to access the lift to move on to the labs above. The request will list the target as being in the Incubation Lab, which may seem like a far backtrack but is actually much closer than you think. After obtaining this request, turn back around and head to the far left to find a door that you unbar and open up. This door will lead you back to one of the merchant’s previous locations right next to Facility 1 Storage, which is also not far from the Incubation Lab. On your way to the Lab, there will be a locker you can have Ashley hide in to give you one less thing to worry about in this battle.

How To Kill The Wandering Death

Leon Aiming At The Wandering Death

The Wandering Death is one of the most brutal non-boss enemies of the game, and a usual run-and-gun method will do little to help you kill it. The Wandering Death will be standing in the center of the Lab, with another regenerator standing off to the side, and both of them will attack you once you have their attention. To even stand a chance in this fight, be sure to bring the Biosensor Scope on a powerful gun, preferably a rifle.

The Wandering Death will have multiple organs you’ll need to shoot to kill it, more than any other Iron Maiden. As it won’t attack you by looking in through the destroyed window, take a second to scope out the enemy to see where you need to focus your fire. It’s also best that before starting the actual fight, line up a shot that will hit multiple organs with a single bullet, to give you a head start on what may be a prolonged battle. Should you fight without the scope, this fight will require an incredible amount of bullets and may not be worthwhile to try and complete without.

After you have the Wandering Death’s attention, it will be able to jump over the destroyed window to melee you or will fire spikes to hit you from a distance. The best strategy is to shoot at the Wandering Death from the outer side of the Lab through the destroyed window. Once it gets to you, run to the other side through the Lab, where there will be a small room with another shattered window. From here, shoot it until it reaches this new position, and run back and forth as it reaches you to stay out of melee range. While the other Regenerator can be annoying to avoid, it does not need to be killed to complete the request. Many of your bullets will also probably go toward the Wandering Death, and it’s best to save any bullet you have for the main enemy. Once the Wandering Death has been killed, return to the merchant to claim your reward.
