Though the game itself sounds simple enough, it gets more complicated when you have a limited time frame and must destroy as many bricks as possible using Elemental Reactions. To help you crack through those pesky bricks as quickly as possible, we’re here to provide you with an easy guide for the first two Challenges: Crunchy Sakura Mochi, and Men-Mayhem.

How To Complete ‘Crunchy Sakura Mochi’ – Playful Leisure Mode

The first Leisurely Pastime Challenge for the Akitsu Kimodameshi Event is ‘Crunchy Sakura Mochi’. There are two difficulties for this challenge, with Playful Lesiure being the easy mode. You won’t need to do much planning for Playful Leisure, as you will have up to 10 minutes to complete this challenge, which is plenty. Here are the bricks you will need to break in this challenge:

  • Basic Brick: A brick with no Elemental Type.
  • Electrobrick: A brick infused with Electro.

There is one type that is banned for this stage, which is Hydro. This means you won’t be able to use any Hydro characters on the field. Instead, you should choose these Elemental Types: Pyro, Electro, and Cryo. With these Elemental Types, you’ll be able to create these Reactions:

  • Detonatorball: Electro & Pyro. Occurs when the Skill-Ball creates an Overloaded Reaction with the bar. It will create a blast that deals Area of Effect DMG when hitting a brick.
  • Detonate: Electro & Pyro. Occurs when the Skill-Ball creates an Overloaded Reaction with a brick. It will create a blast that deals Area of Effect DMG to surrounding bricks.
  • Pierce: Cryo & Electro. Occurs when the Skill-Ball creates a Superconduct Reaction with a brick. It will cause the ball to go right through the bricks in its path rather than be reflected off of them.

With these Reactions in mind, you should have no problem beating Playful Leisure Mode. We recommend using the ‘Replicating Collider’ and ‘Shatter-prise!’ Modifiers. If you don’t have ‘Shatter-prise!’ yet, ‘Reflector Ward’ will be helpful as well.

It is also recommended that you use the Sprint button often. This is the same button you use to Sprint in the regular game. This will allow you to catch all the Skill-Balls that are coming back to you without them leaving the stage. You will then be able to complete the stage faster and with more ease.

Now that you have the basics down with the Playful Leisure Mode, it’s time to take on the Unending Refinement Mode. This difficulty only gives you 2:30 minutes to complete the stage. In order to get all the possible rewards for this stage as well, you will need to reach a minimum of 4500 points.

Though this might sound intimidating at first, there are a few things you can do to prepare for this mode that will make reaching 4500 points a breeze. Follow our directions, and you’ll finish ‘Crunchy Sakura Mochi’ in no time.

  • Start by choosing your 4 characters. You should choose an Electro, Pyro and Cryo character. We recommend focusing on the Pierce Reaction with this level, shown above, which consists of Electro and Cryo. To create the Pierce Reaction, make sure you have a Cryo character active near the bar and shoot the Skill-Ball at any of the Electrobricks. The Skill-Ball will then pierce right through every brick it comes into contact with, and will make your Combo amount increase.
  • Use these 3 Modifiers to reach 4500 points easily: ‘Concomitant Impact’, ‘Replicating Collider’, and ‘Shatter-prise!’. These will help you to create as many moving parts on the field as possible, which will allow you to knock out a ton of bricks at once.
  • Focus on creating Combo counts over 30 to make your Modifiers more active. A Combo will continue to increase so long as the Skill-Ball isn’t lost. Combos will also increase the amount of points you get.
  • Remember to use the Sprint button. In Unending Refinement Mode, you will only have 10 Reserve Balls. Once you deplete all 10, you will lose the challenge. Keep as many Skill-Balls on the field as possible.

How To Complete ‘Men-Mayhem’ – Playful Leisure Mode

The next challenge you will need to complete is the ‘Men-Mayhem’ Challenge. For Playful Leisure Mode, you will again have 10 minutes to complete it. Here are the brick types you will be up against:

  • Basic Brick: A brick with no Elemental Type.
  • Hydrobrick: A brick infused with Hydro.
  • Electrobrick: A brick infused with Electro.

The type banned from this stage will be the Pyro Element. With this in mind, you will be able to have Electro, Cryo, and Hydro characters on the field. They will be able to create these reactions:

  • Surgeball: Electro & Hydro. Occurs when the Skill-Ball creates an Electro-Charged Reaction with the bar. When the Skill-Ball hits a brick, it will create lightning that will apply Electro to all bricks in a fixed Area of Effect.
  • Freezeball: Cryo & Hydro. Occurs when the Skill-Ball creates a Frozen Reaction with the bar. The Skill-Ball will halt in place on the bar, but you will still be able to move the bar. This is a good reaction to use if you want to reset the position of the Skill-Ball. It will start moving again in a few seconds, or you can send the Skill-Ball back out manually.
  • Coagulating: Cryo & Hydro. Occurs when the Skill-Ball creates a Frozen Reaction with a brick. This will cause all the bricks that are connected to the struck brick of the same type to freeze, and when the Skill-Ball hits one of these Frozen bricks again, it will shatter every Frozen brick in the area.
  • Surge: Electro & Hydro. Occurs when the Skill-Ball creates an Electro-Charged Reaction with a brick. This will release lightning from the struck brick’s area that randomly deals DMG within a fixed Area of Effect to nearby bricks.
  • Pierce: Cryo & Electro. Described in the ‘Crunchy Sakura Mochi’ Playful Leisure section.

With this challenge we recommend choosing the Modifiers ‘Replicating Collider’ and ‘Relative Expansion’. This will allow you to create more Skill-Balls on the field, and make the bar wider when you switch between characters.

With these Modifiers in place, try to focus on creating the Freezeball and Coagulating Reactions, shown above. There will be many Hydrobricks on this stage, and you’ll be able to shatter a ton of them at once if you freeze them first and hit them again.

How To Complete ‘Men-Mayhem’ – Unending Refinement Mode

Genshin Impact 12_20_2022 12_44_27 AM Cropped

The Unending Refinement Mode for ‘Men-Mayhem’ will require you to complete the challenge in under 2:30 minutes, with only 10 Reserve Balls. To receive all rewards for this challenge, you will need to reach a minimum of 4500 points. There are no types banned for this stage, meaning you will be able to use Pyro this time.

Here are some of our tips to completing this challenge to hit well-over the threshold of 4500 points.

  • When picking characters, take advantage of the fact that you can now have a Pyro character. You will want a line-up of Electro, Pyro, Hydro, and Cryo.
  • Choose these 3 Modifiers: ‘Replicating Collider’, ‘Shatter-prise!’, and ‘Concomitant Impact’. These will allow you to create as much damage on the field as possible.
  • Make sure to increase your Combo count to gain more points. This will also help to keep your Modifiers active. Use the Sprint button to make sure your Skill-Balls don’t leave the field.
  • Focus on creating the Freezeball and Coagulating Reactions again with this challenge. These Reactions will take out the Hydrobricks as quickly as possible. When faced with the Basic Bricks and Electrobricks, you can either stay on your Cryo character to create the Pierce Reaction, or swap to Pyro to create the Detonate Reaction.
