Hogwarts Legacy has entered the world with a magical boom. Much to the delight of fans everywhere, you can now make your own character and experience your own unique story within the Wizarding World. This large open world is full of secrets, collectibles, and bosses. You’ll find something to do around every corner. This is a title that promises to deliver hours upon hours of fun to each and every player.
If you’ve arrived at this page, you’ve likely progressed the story to the point where you’re facing yet another Pensieve Guardian. This new and improved Pensieve Guardian has some extra tricks up its sleeve, as well as a challenging encounter just before it. Remember that if you fall at any point during the two encounters, you get sent back to the very start. Not to worry! We’ll tell you everything you need to know to overcome this fight.
The Pensieve Soldiers Encounter
While the first encounter saw you face a good number of enemies, this encounter throws you a curve ball. At any given moment, you’ll only be able to see about half of the enemies on the field. You can track them by watching their floating weapons. This makes it very important to rely on your “danger sense,” that red or golden sigil that tells you when you need to dodge or block. This stage of the fight might take you a few tries, as it can be very difficult to master defending against invisible foes.
Use The Magic Door
In the center of the platform is a magic doorway that glows blue or red depending on how you’re looking at it and if you’ve gone through it. Moving through this doorway will allow you to phase between the two versions of the room. This is how you will eventually see and fight all of the enemies around. You can’t attack what you can’t see, so it’s important that you continue to dance between the alternate versions of the room to take down enemies.
Build Up Your Ancient Magic
Just as in the first fight, you’ll want to hold on to your ancient magic unless you hit an emergency. Using this fight to build up ancient magic will help you in the fight against the big boss. If you trust your instincts and react to the sigils warning you of danger above your head, you should be able to sling spells without taking much damage. This also means you should be able to build up larger combos that help build the meter.
Facing The Pensieve Guardian
You’ll notice that the boss is a little tougher this time around, meaning you’ll really have to play defensively to take down its health bar.
Use Your Ancient Magic
If you have ancient magic ready, use it. When the Pensieve Guardian goes to its knees, strike it with everything you have. Just make sure you don’t get too close, as the Guardian emits a shockwave when it gets back up. If you have a second ancient magic charge loaded and ready when it gets up, hit it again. This will be a great start to the fight and make things feel much more manageable. The rest of the fight you’ll want to rinse and repeat. Build up those combos, fill the meter, and let loose with another ancient strike.
Destroy The Orbs
In the first fight, the Pensieve Guardian didn’t seem to switch up the colors of the orbs much. In this fight, it swapped colors with every attack. This means you either want to get really good at dodging this strike or have a variety of spells equipped to your spell bar. If you have a variety of spells equipped, simply match the color of the spell to the color of the orb. This will blow up the orb in the Guardian’s face and stun it for a few seconds. While not as devastating as your ancient magic, every little bit helps.
Dodge The Stomps
This works pretty much exactly like the first fight. You’ll see the red sigil around your head, the Guardian will stomp, and you’ll want dodge roll to one side in order to avoid it.
Block The Small Orbs
In the first fight, the Pensieve Gurdian had one small orb that would shoot energy at you. In this second fight, it has two. That means they also attack twice as much, sometimes in quick succession. These attacks can be blocked and used to cast stupefy, but your timing has to be perfect. Also, as soon as one strikes, the other will strike. So, if you block one, expect the second one right behind it and block again.
Block The Arena Slam
About halfway through the fight, the Pensieve Guardian will reveal another new move. It summons a weapon (perhaps a hammer or mace) and slams it onto the ground. This slam rocks the entire arena. There’s no way to dodge through it or avoid it. Instead, you have to block it with Protego. You can roll this into a Stupefy, which is great, but getting the timing down is crucial.
