How to beat the EKDROMOI

Armored Core 6 really likes to keep it original with their enemies’ builds. Some are the size of wasps but sting like them, too. Others are hulking leviathans that look like mountains. One is even a spider. No matter what you’re up against, FromSoftware has carried over their inventive approach to boss battles that rings so true in the Souls games. As you come to the end of the Attack the Refuelling Base mission in Armored Core 6, you will be faced with not one, but two insanely fast mechs, known as EKDROMOI, and they’re a trick to beat.

Armored Core Build

You got to be fast. You got to be really fast. Unlike a number of the other fast Armored Core I have written about, the EKDROMOI twins do actually need to be matched for speed. With the previous fast Armored Core, it is possible to tank it out and absorb damage while throwing a few quick dashes in. Due to there being two Armored Cores this time, you need to be constantly moving and fast.

Choose a lightweight mech build with a decent-sized generator. You want to be able to stay in your boost state a lot and listen out for the audio cues to dash from an incoming attack without running out of EN.

To pin these guys down, use a fast weapon, like the chain gun. The EKDROMOI twins can be staggered easily, provided you have the weapon speed. I also used top-down homing missiles as my fire and forgets to keep picking away at their health, even while they dashed around my Armored Core. My final choice was the Pile Bunker because explosive melee damage is life.

EKDROMOI technique

The clue is given to you by Walter when you first begin the fight. Pick the Armored Core EKDROMOI off one by one. By dividing your attention, one of the EKDROMOI twins will regain stagger while the other draws your attention. You will find that as you hammer one Armored Core down, it will try to back off and regain while the other tries to distract.

Use your missile systems to prevent it from ever getting too far. Also, make sure your lock on stays locked on. As soon as you see the stagger meter fill, attack boost in with a charged melee and realize just how weak those lightweight Armored Core builds are.

It is imperative you listen out for the attack warning audio cues. You will not be able to keep an eye on both of the EKDROMOI Armored Cores as you focus one. So, listen out for the warning, and get ready to dash dodge.
