Pickaxes have been in Fortnite since the very beginning, and every week there are new ones added to the Item Shop. Almost seven years after its release, how many Pickaxes are in Fortnite in 2024? The actual number might surprise you.
It should come as no surprise that there are a lot of Fortnite Pickaxes, that’s for sure. Think about it: Every time there is a Fortnite update, new cosmetics are dropped in the Item Shop. Then think about all the events and crossovers that happen too, like Star Wars or Avatar, and they all come with their own harvesting tools as well.
Multiply that over 6 years, and it gets difficult to comprehend how many there are. Thankfully, Fortnite.gg has been keeping track of every single Pickaxe so we can find out how many there actually are.
On April 17, 2024, there are 1,191 Pickaxes in Fortnite. With a little bit of math, we can figure that, on average, Epic Games adds 14 new Pickaxes to the game every month, which is pretty impressive if you think about it.
If you’re interested in seeing which rarities have the most Pickaxes, we’ve broken that down too. Of course, with Epic removing Item Shop rarities, we’ll no longer be able to know where they rank, but it’s still interesting to see the breakdown over the first six years.
