How long will Sea of Thieves season maintenance downtime be?

The Season 11 update for Sea of Thieves is releasing today, and at 10am UCT, the servers shut down for maintenance as they prepare for the update. Many players are now wondering at which time they’ll be over so we can dive into all the new features.

When can we play Season 11 in Sea of Thieves?

Like in previous Season updates, Sea of Thieves has shut its servers down, preventing anyone from playing. It’s been some time now, and the servers are still not back up. Those who were expecting the game to be ready in an hour or so will be dissapointed.

Unfortunately, there is no telling how long this will be. In previous maintenance shutdown for previous updates, we’ve had waiting times of even over 5 hours. So if I were you, I’d prepare for the long haul.

I would keep checking the official Sea of Thieves X page every hour or so, as they’re sure to make an announcement when the servers are back online. This is much easier than trying to start the game every now and then. Alternatively, the Subreddit will surely spring to life when the update hits.

As I’m writing this, it’s been a few hours already, so hopefully there won’t be too long to wait now. I would suspect that the servers will be up around 5pm UCT. Given that this update is a very large one, we may need to wait a little extra time before we can set sail.

These server maintenance times is why Rare starts the update so early in the day, so by the evening, all the pirates can jump in and play the game.

Whilst you’re waiting for Season 11, why don’t you make sure you’re up to date with everything this new Season brings?
