Collection Pools and Series work in an extremely complicated manner in Marvel Snap. So, here’s an explanation of how this system works.
Marvel Snap might be a new game on the scene, but it already has a mountain of different cards available. As you start off in the game and earn new cards, you might wonder how you can earn some of the new and more powerful cards.
Snap actually has a very strict method about how it makes new cards available to players through its reward systems, and in this guide, we’re going to explain exactly how it works so you know when you can expect to see certain cards.
Collection Pools and Series
The most important concept in card collection is that all cards are part of a particular pool, officially called Series. There are currently five different Series, and when you open in-game rewards that can include cards, such as Collector’s Caches, any cards you open will always be drawn from a particular Series based on your current Collection Level.

How Your New Cards Are Determined
When you first start the game, the cards you receive are guaranteed to be from Series 1 until you have reached Collection level 214 and collected them all. The same then applies as your Collection level Rises and you progress through Series 2. After Collection Level 18, the actual cards you get from any reward will be random, but they will always be from that Series until you have collected them all.
This changes when you reach Collection Level 486 or higher, having completed Series 1 and 2, and become eligible to receive Series 3. Once you are in this pool, card rewards can include cards from Series 4 and Series 5, even if you have not collected all of Series 3. However, Series 4 and 5 cards are many times rarer. In fact, Series 4 cards are ten times rarer than Series 3, and Series 5 cards are ten times rarer than Series 4. What this means, in practical terms, is that it is very unlikely you will see them as random rewards until you have completed Series 3.
At this point, you have to rely on luck to get the cards you want, as Series 3 is the largest pool in the game, and there is no way to manipulate which cards you get as rewards. Fortunately, Snap has now introduced the Collector’s Tokens to enable players to buy from a rotating selection of cards from the shop.
Seasonal Cards And Series Changes
Seasonal and limited availability cards — such as the rewards from the Season Pass — become available to all players in the season following their release. They are added to Series 5.
Marvel Snap’s Developer, Second Dinner, recently announced that some cards from the highest Series would be moved down in time to lower Series to make them more easily available for players. This includes cards moving from Series 5 to Series 4 and Series 4 to Series 3.
