Horizon Forbidden West welcomes players back into the surprisingly beautiful post apocalyptic United States and see’s the return of one of PlayStation’s greatest heroines, Aloy. All throughout the game, you can quip Aloy with different outfits that have unique bonuses and perks, as well as different unique looks.
There are several different rarities of outfits that are the same as weapons and are specifically designed under one of the six skill tree perks — Warrior, Trapper, Hunter, Survivor, Infiltrator, and Machine Master. These outfits will be ranked by usefulness, how they look, resistances, and the specific perks and bonuses that come applied to the outfit.
10 Utaru Harvester
The Utaru Harvester Outfit is great for those that like to stay stealthy and sneakily take out enemies without being seen. This Infiltrator outfit isn’t great for after you get caught, though. It’s attached perks only increase your bow damage while in stealth, as well as lowering your ability to be spotted by enemies.
When upgraded, the outfit will also increase your weapon stamina, so you can use weapon abilities even more. This armor also protects you from 39 Acid Damage, 31 Frost Damage, and 26 Impact Damage. You can purchase this outfit from the three Stitcher locations across the map for 399 Metal Shards and 1 Shell-Walker Circulator.
9 Utaru Whisperer
The Utaru Whisperer is another outfit based around the Infiltrator skill tree. Its base skills do nothing but increase Silent Strike and the spear related stealth skills. Silent Strike Gain increases your ability to gain back weapon stamina, and Silent Strike Heal allows you to also gain health back by using Silent Strike.
When the outfit is upgraded, Silent Spear makes any of Aloy’s spear attacks quieter, so you can stay in stealth even longer. The Utaru Whisperer outfit has resistance to 42 Fire Damage, 26 Frost Damage, and 27 Impact Damage. This outfit can only be found in a chest during ‘The Dying Lands’ mission.
8 Tenkth Marshal
This Survivor outfit is a great choice for those who like to use the machine’s weapons against them. The outfit’s appearance is very armored and is one of the better looking outfits in the game. While wearing the Tenakth Marshal outfit, Aloy will do more Tear Damage while in stealth, as well as being able to recover more health back when below 25%.
When upgraded, Aloy will also get more defense while your health is below 25%. The outfit is resistant to 40 Plasma Damage, 26 Melee Damage, and 24 Impact Damage. You can find this outfit in a chest next to The Memorial Grove during ‘The Kulrut’ mission.
7 Oseram Wayfarer
The Oseram Wayfarer outfit is the best early game choice for those struggling with melee defense as well as melee damage. This outfit also increases your mobility in combat with the Evader perk. Aloy also gets a +1 bonus to her Melee Damage against machines and humans alike. When upgraded, Aloy’s potions are also made more effective.
The outfit gives Aloy resistance to 41 Purgewater Damage, 26 Melee Damage, and 25 Impact Damage. The Oseram Wayfarer outfit can be purchased from the Stitcher in Plainsong for 1 Widemaw Circulator as well as 399 Metal Shards.
6 Carja Stalker Elite
This is the first and one of the best Trapper outfits on the game. The Carja Stalker outfit features reflective pieces from the Stalker machine species. This outfit increases your trap limit by two and smoke bomb capacity by one, as well as increasing Aloy’s crafting and placing speed for all traps.
When upgraded, this outfit also makes you harder to spot, as well as making your crouching movement sound even more quiet. The outfit boasts 65 Frost Damage resistance as well as 55 Melee, Impact, Shock, Purgewater, and Plasma Damage resistance. The outfit gives a huge increase to Aloy’s concentration skill, which makes you be able to slow down time and aim and fire your bows better. The outfit also increases weapon stamina regeneration as well as concentration regeneration.
The Nora Thunder Warrior also has great resistances with 65 Impact resistance, 39 Acid resistance, and 55 Melee, Shock, Fire, and Purgewater resistance. Most of these are very common in the Forbidden West. You can purchase this outfit from Dukkah at the Maw of the Arena for 54 Arena Medals.
4 Tenakth Tactician
This outfit is the best choice for those who like to override machines and always have them on Aloy’s side with the Machine Master skill set. The Tenakth Tactician outfit increases the time that machines stay overridden, as well as giving the machines more elemental attacks and more health for overridden machines.
When upgraded, you will also get more bonuses to Aloy’s attacks while riding the mountable machines. This outfit boasts great Fire and Frost resistance as well as great Melee, Impact, Shock, and Plasma resistance. You can purchase the Tenakth Tactician outfit from the Stitcher in Thornmarsh for one Apex Slitherfang Heart, one Thunderjaw Circulator, and 2,000 Metal Shards.
3 Utaru Winterweave
The Utaru Winterweave outfit is the best choice for those who choose stealth over any other aspect in the game. Its intrinsic skills are best for Silent Strike, as well as moving more quietly and keeping a low profile in engagements. You also get increased smoke bomb capacity as well as healing from a Silent Strike attack when upgraded.
For being an Infiltrator outfit, it has quite the formidable defense with 65 Plasma resistance, 56 Shock Resistance, as well as 55 Melee, Impact, and Frost resistance. 2 Tenakth Vanquisher
This outfit is great for those that are either new to the Horizon games or are prone to taking a lot of damage and dealing more damage in return. The Tenakth Vanquisher outfit’s perks increase all of Aloy’s stats while she is below 25% health.
You will also resist damage while below 25% health. This armor also has amazing elemental resistances and decent Impact and Melee resistance. The Tenakth Vanquisher outfit can be purchased from Dukkah at the Maw of the Arena for 54 Arena Medals.
1 Oseram Artificer
This is the overall best outfit in the game. The Oseram Artificer is one of the final unlocks you can get in the game. The outfit’s perks increase the power and duration of resonator attacks, which are created with sequential melee spear attacks. This outfit does a great job protecting against melee attacks as well as Acid, Impact, Fire, Purgewater damage resistances.
This outfit is fun to use while beating humans and machines with nothing but your spear. The only way to acquire the Oseram Artificer outfit is by completing the ‘Keruf’s Salvage Unlimited’ mission and its 17 different Salvager Contracts.
