Honkai Star Rail Has Already Surpassed 8 Million Pre-Registrations
After the massive success of Genshin Impact, miHoYo is all set to launch its next game, Honkai: Star Rail, and it is already coming close to achieving its predecessor’s milestone.
In a new tweet, the developers have announced that Honkai: Star Rail has surpassed 8 million pre-registrations. Honkai Star Rail is still a month away from release, and the pre-registrations show that the game has indeed managed to build a lot of hype during the beta phase itself. In comparison, Genshin Impact surpassed 10 million registrations when it was launched back in 2020, but considering that it was released during the peak of the pandemic and there is still a month to go for Honkai: Star Rail to release these numbers are also nothing short of extraordinary.
To celebrate the milestone, Honkai Star: Rail is giving out 100,000 Credits, Star Rail Pass x20, and 4-star character Serval (Erudition: Lightning) ×1. The Star Rail Passes are the equivalent of Wishes in Genshin Impact, meaning that you can use them to get characters based on the gacha system.
Genshin Impact has grown significantly over the years, and miHoYo plans to replicate the success in Honkai: Star Rail as well. While the core premise of the game is quite similar to Genshin Impact, with a gacha-based system, the major factor that stands out is turn-based combat. So far, the game has managed to garner quite a good response from the community and it shouldn’t be surprising to see it shatter more records than its predecessor.
However, it might take a while for that to happen considering the fact that it is just releasing on Android, iOS, and PC for now. A PlayStation release isn’t totally out of the cards though, Hoyoverse has confirmed that it is coming soon, but an exact release date hasn’t been revealed yet. With April not filled with any major releases as such, Honkai: Star Rail might actually be the talk of the town next month.
