Bosses insisted the TV hosts had “full accreditation” for the fast track queue which spared them the 14-hour wait facing members of the public.
This Morning presenters Holly and Phillip had already been dubbed “queue jumpers” for taking advantage of the fast lane.
But it was claimed yesterday that they were not accredited under their own names and went in on their production staff passes.
Holly, 41, and her 60-year-old co-star were said to have been embroiled in a “hoo ha” as they waited for their details to be checked.
One source said: “When they got there, their names weren’t on the list so there were some discussions.”
“And – after some back and forth – Phil and Holly were given access and they were ushered through. The whole thing caused a bit of a hoo-ha.”
About 250,000 people saw the Queen lie in state, with the vast majority – including David Beckham and Susanna Reid – using the public queue.
More than 70,000 people have now signed a petition calling on them to be axed by ITV because of their queuing choice.
One woman, Mia Froggatt, claimed on Twitter that her disabled mother was moved out of the way for the pair after waiting 13 hours.
She added: “My mum was ushered out of @hollywills and @schofe way so they could #queuejumpers without even a thanks #schofieldgate #queuejumping.”
An ITV spokesperson said: “Phillip and Holly had full accreditation which was organised by the This Morning production team. Any claims otherwise are untrue.”
