Moonstones are an important item for every Wizard and Witch to have in Hogwarts Legacy. In order to conjure items in the Room of Requirement, you will need to spend Moonstone to create these pieces.
There are a few methods you can use to get this item for your conjuration needs. Of these available methods, there are a couple that will make your search much less tiresome and allow you to focus on your crafting within the Room of Requirement.
Find Moonstone In The Highlands
The first method for finding Moonstones in by farming for them in the Highlands, which is all the locations on the map outside Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. The locations where you are most likely to stumble on them are rocky and mountainous.
There are a few spots on the map where we were able to find the most Moonstone grouped together, with the first being the path up the mountain nearby the Upper Hogsfield Floo Flame. You can use the above image as reference of its exact location, just past a small bandit camp.
Another location we highly recommend visiting is the path up the mountain just past the West Hogwarts Valley Floo Flame. Since this area is all rocky, you’ll be able to come across large clusters of Moonstone around here. Just beware the giant spiders in the area.
Evanesco Spell
Another way you can rack up some Moonstone is by using the Evanesco Spell in the Room of Requirement. You’ll learn this Transfiguration spell when you first discover the Room of Requirement from Professor Weasley.
To use the spell, you’ll want to make sure it is in one of your slots. Then, aim your wand at an item in the room that you wish to get rid of. Use the spell on the item, and you will receive a Moonstone in return. You will be able to place the item back later if you’d like, so don’t worry about losing anything just for Moonstones.
Material Refiner
Finally, the best way for you to get Moonstones is by conjuring a Material Refiner. To create this item in the Room of Requirement, you can pick up its Conjuration Spellcraft from Thomas Brown at Tomes and Scrolls. This shop can be found in South Hogsmeade.
When you arrive, you’ll find the Spellcraft on the first page, and it’ll cost 1,500 Galleon. Though it has a high price, it is an incredibly useful item to have stocked up in your room. You’ll be able to create three of them in the room to start with.
Once you return to the Room of Requirement and create the Material Refiner, it will automatically start making Moonstones for you. Each batch will take 10 minutes to yield 10 Moonstones. If you want to get more Moonstones at a time, then you can conjure multiple Material Refiners in your room. This method is the most ideal as you’ll be able to focus on your quests and exploring instead of having to search everywhere for Moonstone in the mountains. Though it might be a bit slow, it is worth the price.
