WB Games has revealed the Hogwarts Legacy Global Access and the Early Access launch times.
Warner Bros Games and Avalanche Software have announced the Global Launch and Early Access dates for the upcoming open-world action-adventure game Hogwarts Legacy. After the many delays since the original announcement, it’s safe to say the wait is over, at least for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC players.
It remains unclear why PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch will have to wait longer, but we hope the delayed release will be worthwhile.
A new post on Twitter has now revealed the Hogwarts Legacy release time for all regions. It starts with Early Access, which is included with the Deluxe Edition of the game, which grants players three days of early access. If you buy the Deluxe Edition digitally, you can start playing the game as early as midnight on February 7. The same Deluxe Edition allows PC users access as early as 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET on the same date.
Note that this applies to digital purchases. Those physically buying the video game will have to contact their retailer for the correct dates. The Global Launch time happens at the same time but on 10th February.
Hogwarts Legacy is based on the Harry Potter franchise and is set in the Wizarding World universe. While the game’s connection to J.K Rowling’s writings has had a fair share of criticism, Warner Bros Games, which will publish Hogwarts Legacy under its Portkey Games label, has been quick to note that the author has no hand in the game. It’s worth noting that Hogwarts Legacy’s setting is slightly different from what we’re used to with the game taking place in the 1800s and players taking on the role of a young student at the wizarding school.
During the game, players will encounter Dark Wizards while investigating a rumored rebellion. Remember, you’ll also need to keep up with your studies and ensure you rank high in your classes.
The diverse setting has seen many fans anticipating the release, and the staggering dates across 2023 will make them even more eager.
Thankfully, we’ve heard from the horse’s mouth confirming February dates for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. Hogwarts Legacy’s PS4 and Xbox One release date is on April 4, while Nintendo Switch players will be casting spells from July 25.
