11 Phineas Nigellus Black

Hogwarts Legacy Phineas Nigellus Black

Phineas Nigellus Black, one of the first characters you meet in Hogwarts Legacy, is also the Headmaster of Hogwarts presently. Upon meeting Headmaster Black, you’ll find that he is snide, abrasive, and has no patience for the delay.

You’ll notice immediately that Black’s demeanor and personality are quite the opposite of what Hogwarts fans are accustomed to in more canonically established Headmasters like Albus Dumbledore. Not to say that a fresh take on the role of Headmaster at Hogwarts is necessarily a bad thing, however, as far as this list is concerned, first impressions are certainly lasting.

10 Aesop Sharp

Hogwarts Legacy Aesop Sharp

Professor of Potions Aesop Sharp is a retired Auror and survivor of a tragic ambush that took his partner’s life and severely injured Sharp. After the attack, Sharp retired as an Auror and under the stewardship of Phineas Nigellus Black, Sharp decided to teach at Hogwarts.

Professor Sharp is a Master of Potions teacher and is known for having little to no tolerance for misbehaving witches and wizards but also being deeply proud of those who succeed in his class.

9 Bai Howin

Howarts Legacy Bai Howin

The Professor of Beasts at Hogwarts, Bai Howin has an interesting relationship and understanding when it comes to the animals that reside in and around the forests of Hogwarts. Professor Howin maintains that Beasts should be protected because they are invaluable assets to wizards and witches.

Professor Howin’s loath and contempt for poachers who kill the magical beasts for sport and riches is genuinely considered through the character dialogue.

8 Chiyo Kogawa

Hogwarts Legacy Chiyo Kogawa

A former prospect for the Toyohashi Tengu Quidditch Team, Professor Chiyo Kogawa is the current teacher of Flying in Hogwarts Legacy. Professor Kogawa is a strict and no-nonsense type of teacher, and for good reason.

Before trying out for the Toyohashi Tengu Quidditch team, Kogawa was unknowingly given a herbal tea that enhanced her performance to unmatched ability. After finding out her friend had slipped her a herbal enhancement potion in her tea, Kogawa withdrew her name from the tryouts. Kogawa aims to instill a safe classroom for flight and urges her students to maintain the utmost honesty.

7 Satyavati Shah

Hogwarts Legacy Satyavati Shah

Professor of Astronomy, Satyavati Shah is one of the few witches in Hogwarts Legacy to have meaningful interactions with Muggles to further her understanding of the stars and the galaxy and what they tell us.

Known by her students as burdensome and monotone, Professor Shah is absolutely enamored with the stars and the heavens and learned a great deal about them from her muggle contacts at Cambridge University. It is through her correspondence with Muggle astronomers that she is able to expand on her knowledge of the cosmos and pass on that knowledge to her students.

6 Eleazar Fig

Hogwarts Legacy Eleazer Fig

Hogwarts Magical Theory teacher, Professor Eleazer Fig, is the first character you meet in the game, and not only is he your guide through the magical wizarding world, but he is also very knowledgeable on the ancient magic powers your character possesses. Professor Fig gave up his ambition of working for the Ministry of Magic to assist his wife, Miriam, with her research.

Miriam Fig embarked on a lifelong journey to uncover the secrets behind the disappearance of ancient magic. Mysteriously, Miriam suddenly died before she could finish her research, and shortly thereafter Professor Fig picked up right where she had left off.

5 Matilda Weasley

Hogwarts Legacy Matilda Weasley

Transfiguration teacher and Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts, Professor Matilda Weasley is a powerful and even-tempered faculty member whose demeanor and qualities remind you that you’re technically in a school for wizards and witches.

Professor Weasley is a comforting character to talk to, although she always seems to know more than she lets on, sort of like a real teacher would. Much of the dialogue between you and the Deputy Headmistress is teaching you, vital gameplay mechanics, however, instead of feeling like a long and drawn-out tutorial, conversations feel natural, well as natural as talking with a Professor at Hogwarts can be.

4 Mudiwa Onai

Hogwarts Legacy Mudiwa Onai

A gifted Seer and the teacher of Divination, Mudiwa Onai has higher than usual expectations of her students and can be stricter than most professors at Hogwarts. Professor Onai, although an incredibly talented Seer, was unfortunately struck with tragedy when her husband died suddenly when they lived in Uagadou.

Professor Onai was struck with heavy grief as she was unable to foresee her husband’s death happening. Shortly after she lost her husband she and her daughter, Natsai Onai, moved to Hogwarts to leave the painful memories behind.

3 Mirabel Garlick

The delightfully bubbly and immensely knowledgeable teacher of Herbology at Hogwarts, Professor Mirabel Garlick’s class is the type you never cut and whose homework you can’t help but enjoy. The energy she brings to the wonders of plants and their magical properties makes being in and around the Herbology department at Hogwarts an absolute joy.

2 Abraham Ronen

Hogwarts Legacy Abraham Ronen

Charms Master at Hogwarts, Professor Abraham Ronen is the teacher whom you remember had the most positive impact on your appreciation for learning. Professor Ronen’s character makes you believe he is an energetic, warm-hearted, and dedicated instructor that wants nothing more than his students to succeed.

By implementing gameplay and otherwise unorthodox teaching methods, Professor Ronen reminds us what passion in the classroom looks like.

1 Dinah Hecat

Hogwarts Legacy Dinah Hecat

Often, games rely heavily on in-your-face physical and flashy visual candy to depict great strength and immense power. This is not the case with Professor Dinah Hecat, Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. Professor Hecat proves her power in the first few moments you meet and from that point on she commands your undivided attention.

Her time in the Department of Mysteries gave Professor Hecat access to the vast knowledge of time manipulation. Dinah ultimately became a victim of time itself, and the event caused her to age rapidly. Professor Hecat remarked the situation as an “occupational hazard” and uses this mistake to teach her students the value of simplicity in life and in battle. However, it is the tone and presence that Professor Hecat exceeds in. Even as you are dueling a classmate on the first day of instruction, you wonder if Professor Hecat would find your skill impressive.
