Johan Pilestedt, the CEO of Arrowhead and creative director of Helldivers 2, recently stated that it’s very unlikely that the studio will ever have a crossover with Halo.
The news comes from a quoted tweet by Pilestedt on X/Twitter, in which they responded to a video showcasing Master Chief, Buzz Lightyear, and Starlord in Helldivers 2 fighting Lightning Mcqueen and Skibidi Toilet via mods. The tweet simply reads, “Halo x Helldivers whennnnnnnnn.”
Shortly after that tweet was posted, Pilestedt responded in a tweet that reads:
“I would be a safe bet to say never. But MC looks cool in the Helldivers world. Damn, now I feel like digging up the OG Xbox and [replaying] OG Halo in co-op.”

This is also not the first time that the Helldivers 2 community has asked for a crossover that involves Xbox. Earlier this year, a wave of players asked for additional backup from the Xbox community when the Automatons invaded. The trend began to pick up so much movement that a Change.org petition was made in hopes of Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox.
It’s also worth mentioning that Master Chief has appeared in other game franchises in the past. He’s appeared in various titles, including Rainbow Six Siege, Fortnite, and even Brawlhalla. None of these games were published by Sony, however.
