Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is due to hit cinemas in a matter of weeks and will to close out the characters’ stories once and for all. After that, Marvel actor Chris Pratt could see himself joining the likes of Batman and Superman in the new-and-improved DC Studios. Guardians of the Galaxy boss James Gunn is now the head of the DC Universe, so his connection with Pratt could prove useful – and they’ve already spoken about it.

Despite these comments, Pratt admitted he “has spoken” to Gunn about his future at the DC franchise.

The Super Mario actor said: “Oh, man. Of course, I’ve spoken to him. You know, I’m really happy for him, with the developments in his career,” he said. “I think DC is super lucky to have him in that position.”

He went on to drop a slew of compliments on his pal, calling him an “auteur” and “so smart” before adding that he’s “super pumped for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 to come out” before saying it is a “masterpiece”.

Long before Pratt gets involved with the likes of the Justice League, however, he still has the upcoming Super Mario Bros movie coming out in a matter of days, as well as his Guardians of the Galaxy end.

However, the actor recently admitted he was sick of one feature of the galactic movies.

Pratt made an appearance on BBC’s The One Show where he discussed his final outing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

When he arrived, he was greeted with the soundtrack from the first movie, Come and Get Your Love by Redbone.

However, Pratt admitted he can’t stand the music anymore. He joked: “Oh man, this never gets old! I never get tired of hearing that!”

He pointed out he is often asked to “do the dance” from his Star-Lord debut. And he has good reason to be sick of it.

Pratt confessed it all came down to Star-Lord’s backstory. In the movie, a young Peter Quill was gifted a mixtape from his mother, who soon died before he was kidnapped by aliens (Yondu, et al).

“In my mind,” Pratt mused. “I was thinking: This is the one album this guy has listened to since he was ten. I want to know these songs inside and out.'”

He went on: “I must have heard each of those songs several hundred times. And so, uh, yeah, I don’t like any of them anymore.”

Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 are available to watch on Disney Plus now.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 hits cinemas May 5, 2023.
