Gran Turismo 7 Will Add Five More Cars To Its Roster Next Week

Gran Turismo 7’s producer is teasing five more cars set to make their way to the game next week. In a tweet on Saturday, Kaz Yamauchi repeated his trend of showing the silhouetted vehicles scheduled to make their way into the game’s roster very soon.

There has been no official announcement on what models the cars will be, but aficionados have been able to make pretty accurate guesses in the past just based on the silhouettes Yamauchi is known for sharing ahead of release. According to GTPlanet, the new additions appear to be two Porsches — a 904 Carrera GTS and a 959 from the 1980s — an Audi RS5 DTM, a Mazda 3 hatchback, and a Toyota Alphard minivan. While a minivan may not be most fans’ idea of an exciting ride, it would mark a first for Gran Tuismo 7.

Five new cars in each update is starting to become a pattern for the racing simulator, as the big February update also bought forth five new rides — the Citroën DS 21 Dallas, the Hinda RA272, the Porsche 911 Carrera, and two variations of the Italdesing Vision Gran Turismo. However, last month’s update also came packaged with a remastered version of the series’ classic Grand Valley track. There’s no word yet on what this month’s update will bring other than the five new cars

Yamauchi’s tweet was posted in both English and Japanese, but with a slight twist. A translation of the Japanese text reveals the first half reiterates the English statement that the update will be arriving during the week of March 26, but it contains an additional phrase that, when translated, reads “It’s cherry blossom season in Tokyo.” That could have just been an offhand observation, or it may reveal some other extras on the way that have to deal with sakura season.

There is no official release date for the update just yet, although PushSquare noted that GT Sophy, a collaborative AI project, is set to be removed from the game on Wednesday, so it’s logical that we may be seeing the update and the five new cars premiere at the same time.
